Read it this morning. Really doesn't say much more than what we pretty much know. Maybe 10% of guys are gay, a lot are closeted, non-supportive states have a higher number of closet cases and they view a lot of gay porn. Only thing of interest I saw was that those states that are NOT supportive of gays had the highest number of queries by wife asking 'how do I know if my husband is gay'? LOL Maybe as him or check his internet browser history! icon_rolleyes.gif

It's very interesting that, according to the polls, the less tolerant a state is towards homosexuality, the less homosexuals there actually are in that state. As the article says, its not believable that the polls are being answered honestly.

Haven't you guys figured it out by now that there is only one truly gay man on the planet and that's tru_blu_ozzie. The rest are all imposters. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

It actually said the less tolerant the state is, the higher the number is of closeted gay men in the state. The numbers of actual gay men by state don't correlate with the number of self identified gay men in the state.

Doesn't really say anything new does it ?

It still shocks me that the official statistic thrown around is about 5%.

How many American men have repressed homosexual feelings ? Um... around 70-80% icon_twisted.gif

The 5% usually revolves around those who openly admit to being gay. This doesn't not include guys who either won't admit to being gay (even in an anonymous survey), who consider themselves bisexual or who haven't accepted it themselves.

I think the real number is closer to 10%, higher if you include bisexual guys

    Aristoshark saidNot nearly enough.
And I think we should have a say in who they are, too.
All the hotties should be on our side. The dumpy guys who don't give a shit what they look like should stay on their side. Fair?

That sort of article dos a great job of twisting one's head into a pretzel and perhaps providing revenue for the author, but tells me only one thing:

Beware of economists who manipulate numbers.

This article is right on target. There is no doubt that after spending 5 weeks in the deep South this fall, the number of married men cheating on their wives or wanting discrete sex with men is incredibly higher than I have encountered in other parts of the country. There is so much denial and "bi" activity. The author should have gone to a gay app like Grindr to establish a correlation with the number of faceless pics by state and the number of men in the closet. This would have been a good measure. It blew my mind the number of men who were wanting to be discrete for fear of retaliation or losing their spouse or children, or their job. I say come out of the closet and do all of us homos a favor. Living a double life style is a lie. I've been there and and done that. Let freedom ring! It's so freeing when out. One year anniversary to my family coming up the second week of January 2014....I finally can be the person I want to be around my family.

The exact percentages don't matter. It bothers me though, that in this day and age, gay men still feel the need to conform to societal pressures and get trapped in an opposite-sex marriage commitment. But good things can come out of this arrangement, like having kids.

Mississippi, the least tolerant? But that is where corporate America is sending high tech jobs because of cheap labor, then pulling 'talent' from the chicken farms, just try and get a gay man, who spent years in San Francisco, to move to the state of Mississippi for one of these jobs.....aint gonna happen, no how, he will stay unemployed in SF icon_rolleyes.gif
