I was wondering if anyone else saw the new Disney film Frozen? I really loved it. It is very loosely inspired by Hans Christan Anderson's The Snow Queen. I like how it focused on 2 sisters and their struggles. Something you don't see too often in a Disney film.

I also loved the the soundtrack. It's the best one Disney has come out with in quite sometime, imo. And I love Elsa! She is fabulous. I may or may not have went to the Disney store and bought all the Elsa merchandise they had after seeing the film.

So did anyone else see it? What did you think?

After reading good things about it, I want to see it. Disney hasn't hit on too much really good stuff in recent years, but Frozen sounds like a good film.

I saw it, and that other Frozen movie about the kids trapped on the lift too (it was good). The Disney one goes back to its kind of musical roots. You know what I mean, blah blah blah sing a song blah blah sing a song blah sing a song, its really close to being a musical. Which is fine if thats your kinda thing.

    Story was good.
    Comedy was good.
Drama, feh, its Disney, aint no hair pulling going on there icon_neutral.gif

Does anyone really know who hans Christian Anderson is? I only learnt about him while moving to Denmark. A lot of Disney stories are based on his fairy tales. It wouldn't surprise me to have the next big Disney movie come from one of his stories.

I liked it! What I liked about it was that the bad guy didn't have any magical powers. He was like Cruella.....a bitch! icon_biggrin.gif

But, I'm looking forward to Malificent! Angelina Jolie looks awesome as the Mistress of All Evil!

I watched it on a date last night. It was great but it seemed too much like Tangled to me. I wish Disney would make another cartoon movie with a male lead again.

Kind of weird watching Kevin Zegers and Shawn Ashmore getting killed and eaten by wolves. Wished Tom Cruise was in this movie.

I enjoyed Frozen more than Tangled. I like Tangled but Frozen was more dramatic imo. Also the music from this blows Tangled's soundtrack outta the water. Love Alan Menken but not his best work.

Disney did Wreck it Ralph last year but yeah I would love to see an Aladdin style movie again.

You have to wonder whether the authors of these fairytales and folkloric stories would be horrified to see their efforts bought and sold by a soulless corporation that they never could have begun to imagine even existing in their epochs.

LOL. That was on satellite last night. Reminded me of all those nights in skool when I missed the last bus for some reason.

(Sometimes because the late bus driver refused to recognize "school paper" or "music practice" or anything except "football" as a valid school activity, and wouldn't let me board. Gee, I'd like to go find that guy on his death bed and pinch off his IV drip.)

What did you expect from a Disney animated musical starring Idina Menzel?
