After years of your basic use of machines, barbells and dumbbells, I've grown to really like bodyweight/HIIT focused workouts.

Curious, do any of you guys solely do those types of workouts?

I enjoy the creativity, portability and rush from these gym sessions.

Interested in what you guys think or have experienced.

Well, I don't because I've already invested in a set of weights. But I think they should be promoted more to people who can't, or think they can't afford the time and expense of a gym. For instance, there ought to be a set of such workouts here under the "workout plans" section.

But... there are reasons why the extra weight is used. Even if you don't buy in to a gym, you end up using found objects to add resistance. Or get a job on a farm, if you weren't born on one ;) Back in college crew, all the money went to oars and boats. The workout equipment was all home made. For squats, you got under your buddy while he was doing pull-ups and he sat on your shoulders while you squatted. For presses, he sat on your back while you did push-ups. Good thing we always did those workouts at dawn in the fog when people were too cold to get horny.
