Solo Dates

Hey guys, I was going through my photos on my phone and I realize I take a lot of dates with myself. I began to wonder, am I the only person who does this (aka I'm a weirdo lol) or are there people out there like me?

I personally get annoyed with the constant let down from people or when people just ignore me all together. After a while I just started adventuring and treating myself to places/things I would never do on a regular basis.

If you go on solo dates share a couple here. If not, then maybe you'll get inspired to spend sometime with yourself out one day. icon_smile.gif

    I'll start:

On Sunday I had a casting so the day before I planned to go to the casting and then walk along te beach since I was going to be a mile away from there. On my way to the beach I bought a burrito and had a picnic on the pier at Marina Del Rey. I went to the edge of the pier and watched the sunset on the ocean. Then I walked north along the beachside until I reached Santa Monica (took about an hour), and caught the bus home where I decided to cook spicy pineapple chicken sandwiches, red beans and rice along with Caesar salad. icon_smile.gif

I don't think those activities count as Solo dates (ok maybe), they're more like things to do in your free time! Lol, kinda remind of that episode in Sex and the City when Carrie talked about dating the city of New York! in this case, Los Angeles. Lol, I don't know about other guys but I find it refreshing and calm doing things alone sometimes! It's your R&R downtime basically! But yeah, there are certain activities/things I rather do with another man! if you know what i mean. icon_redface.gif

OP, i recommend 2 more spots for you, Malibu beach and Getty Center in Westwood. I feel romantic everytime I go there, alone or with a partner.

I have no problem eating by myself. It's actually quite common in Tokyo.

EternalOp saidYour solo date sounds romantic and tasty.. Lol

I eat out on my own a lot, some people think it's weird but I don't care. I also like to shop on my own.

I still can't get myself to go clubbing or to the movies on my own though. Too vulnerable?

I feel the same way about clubbing, I can go to a dive bar alone and drink and enjoy myself but a club is a different atmosphere. Movies I can do alone if I liked going.

Thanks for the recommendation. When I get a car I will make it out to those places.

I do have to disagree with you though. I call them solo dates because I feel like I'm mentally and spiritually learning about myself. Just like dating someone else, I would use this time to figure out who the other person is. My idea of R&R is completely different than planning out my day to spend with myself. I do differentiate the 2 though. I can say we have a difference in opinion. ;). Btw it'll probably be a while when I add another person to the mix again (back to the involuntary celibacy life lol)

I travel a lot for work and often dine alone, it's easy and fun and simple. Plus I'm on a date with someone I respect and love.

This thread makes it sound like this is something out of the ordinary. I'd say it's pretty common here. I love biking on my own or even going to gigs sometimes. Although there are mostly people there that I know then.
