It's a good thing I don't know how to make this stuff because I'd be drinking it all year long. It's like crack for me.

My favorite brand is Southern Comfort.

    What's your poison?

I don't like the taste of alcohol at all (I only drink beer for the buzz). But, I love Egg Nog flavor (without the alcohol), so I'll have mine straight up, no booze, chilled, thick, in a cold glass.

This may sound like a sorry substitute, but here's a healthy alternative:

Put about a tablespoon of honey in the bottom of a mug and heat it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds, just so it liquifies. Shake in some nutmeg and cinnamon, or use pumpkin pie spice, then fill it with pasteurized egg whites and stir it up well. Not bad at all. I've been knocking back one of these before and/or after workouts.

In a 10oz mug you're getting less than 100 calories, 0 G of fat, 17G of carbs and 25G of protein.

Anderson Erickson Milknog is the best of all the eggnogs.

I'm like you, I don't like the taste of hard liquor, but if you put just a smidgen in it can help the flavor. I had some Captain Morgan rum left over from an ice cream recipe and as an experiment used 1/2 teaspoon in an 8 ounce glass of eggnog and it was a noticeable improvement.

Since I don't know what puss tastes like--never had it, and NEVER WILL--it is reassuring that there exists a way to experience the sensation through a substitute.

I've never tasted eggnog, either, but I'm a lot more likely to try it than letting my mouth get even remotely close to a pair of meat curtains. *shudder*

I actually use a recipe that calls for 6 different spirits. It is so good, but in moderation.

Fat bomb. Unless you're doing Starboard's egg white thing, it has no place on a Jock board. But thanks Sanjose, for that visual. Maybe it's meant to be enjoyed by the spoonful. icon_razz.gif

No one else in my house likes Eggnog, so that whole jug always ends up inside of me and it's depressing every time.

It is worth it to look up a recipe for real eggnog and make some yourself at least once. The store stuff is a fake. Good brandy or bourbon is a necessity and so is freshly ground nutmeg. Rich?? O my, yes, but not like the glue in cartons at the grocery.

Eggnog flavored frozen custard - ambrosia of the gods. But hmmmm....I might have to add some pumpkin pie spice to my Chai Vanilla Almond protein ice cream for the holidays:

I just set my Blendtec on "Ice Cream," pour in some pasteurized liquid egg white (makes it creamy, otherwise you got protein sorbet), vanilla whey protein powder and ice for vanilla ice cream. You'll get MOTDs beating a path to your door:

I eat a lot of vegan foods since my stomach doesn't handle dairy well at all, so I would suggest trying vegan egg nog. It tastes really good and pretty similar to the regular stuff, although it isn't as thick. I personally like that.

I hate to admit it, but I binged on eggnog this year (store bought) and my pants feel tighter as a result. Coupled with the fact that I've been missing the gym because it has been brutally cold out the last few weeks, I definitely need to get back to healthy eating/living.

My grocery store still has eggnog. No doubt the last of the holiday season. I managed to not buy any.

The store bought eggnog, e.g., Southern Comfort (which doesn't contain any alcohol) is very rich and thick. I've been mixing it 50/50 with milk, Almond Breeze to be exact. I like it. And it leaves me feeling a bit less guilty.
