not showing off i swear... i just like this site and i know guys who train a lot might appreciate it... pretty proud how i was able to change my bod in 6 months... lost 25 pounds, added muscle... gym 6 days a week, cardio every day... light weights (i have a right shoulder injury for 2 years now that prevents me from doing more weights to build upper body at the moment) and i do abs every day... i know it's not the best ever or anything but i think it's kinda cool

some older guys think they can't do it but i'm 44 and you can...

the pic on the left is from the world naked bike ride i did here in LA... i cut out the scary part lol

NOTE: Thanks everyone for the nice words... hugely encouraging. I should add that my motivations for doing this was a few things but mostly my dad being diagnosed with colon cancer 2 years ago and my brother getting it as well. Bro is fine now. Got it early. Dad died this summer. So I am literally running from cancer icon_smile.gif Kind of what motivates me as well as seeing the changes in my body. The way I feel. Oh and the smaller clothes. holy shit... i can't believe what i fit in now.

    Beautiful !
The coolest part of your accomplishment is that you found a way around your shoulder injury. You've got perseverance and great results to show for it.

Congratulations. This is what I love about this site and what I think typifies the best of it; this taking control of what you can in your life. It's not about prettifying yourself (though looking better is definitely a perk.) It's more about the mental discipline and self-empowerment we can experience from seeing what comes of taking responsibility for ourselves. You go, boy!

Great job. It even works when your 50. I did it with Paleo diet but no cardio.

Alpha, is there a benefit to not doing cardio while on Paleo? Or was that just your preference? I'm 95% paleo at the moment, I just added running to my daily again after Yoga and I'm seeing great results.

thanks... you're right... the feeling i have is not from looking better (though for me it's crazy shocking to see me side by side like that) it's more that i was able to control something and change it...
plus the added benefit of health... my main motivation was when my father wad diagnosed with colon cancer... just died this summer... the healthier i am, the better chance i have to avoid it... that's kind of what keeps me going to the gym... especially on the days i dont want to

also the chances for sex has improved icon_smile.gif but that's just a bonus

Great job. It is so gratifying to see improvements in one's body. The feeling of health is unparalleled. We only increase our likelihood of living not only a long, but healthy later life by taking care of ourselves now in midlife. Glad you feel good.
