Entrapment in the guise of "stopping terrorism." Really read the story. icon_rolleyes.gif

The size of both the airport and the city is totally irrelevant. This type of criminal behavior can happen anywhere in the world.

icon_rolleyes.gif Sounds like another fake FBI budget-building exercise. There was no actual "plot." I think they pick the locations for these to punish the locals for some perceived insult. e.g. They set up the one in Portland after the state pulled out of some particularly wasteful and stupid FBI "task force."

yeah it does sound fishy. Terrorism is great for businees, it make people edgy (which, in fact, tends to make them consume more) and keeps the population focused on little issues they have no control over instead of the big picture as the governments and corporations slowly fleece you.

Yeah, I mean it's not like AQ are fixated on committing terrorist acts against civil aviation targets or anything. Grow up.

It would only be entrapment if the agents had instigated and encouraged the plot. In this case, it seems the suspect instigated the plot and sought assistance in executing it. More importantly, if the suspect was happy to drive what he believed to be a truck full of HE into an airport terminal building, he was clearly prepared to see the plan through to the end. It is perfectly legitimate for law enforcement agents to provide 'assistance' in such cases, in order to gather sufficient evidence to secure a prosecution.
