Wow. Good guy. Delivered in the heart of Alabama, too. Doubt any of its Republican legislators in Washington will vote for ENDA but maybe they'll at least feel some shame.

He's also in favor of amnesty and while leaving the borders open. Not the sharpest tool in the tool box.

yes, he really is an idiot, that's why he's running some no-name operation nobody's ever heard of instead of a multi-billion dollar corporation.

LOL too funny! And you forgot to mention that he can properly construct a sentence, too! icon_lol.gif

Did I miss his comments about the value and dignity of those assembling Apple products overseas in sweatshops?

This NPR December 18, 2013 story focuses on those Google employees earning below a livable wage, with no benefits. It mentions that some Apple employees are in the same boat.

Says the guy so proud that he doesn't even have a public pic. Legal immigration needs to be made easier so that people don't have to resort to illegal immigration to move to the U.S.

Ya, I guess I shouldn't be surprised but it still amazes me how small-minded some of these guys are. A strong statement of the importance of treating all people with dignity and these tiny, tiny people want to try to knock him down, even though he was arguing for THEIR dignity. They are truly sad, small guys.

You try running a world class corporation that lives by inventing the un-thought-off device that everyone will want to own or copy. Reinventing audio and video. Try being the second act to Jobs. He's doing his best and his best is damn good. Why do gays like to knock down our own when he's trying like hell to do well?

He's neither hypocritical nor a c***; he IS, in fact, a very successful and honorable businessman, a worthy successor to a genius who, himself, matured in the two segments of his role as leader of a world-changing enterprise. The China supply chain includes a complexity that would make Byzantium look simplistic; and despite that, Cook has pushed and prodded and asserted influence to improve working conditions there, the conditions controlled by the Chinese leaders of those supplying companies. He's effectively solved a supply problem, while also taking on a different culture. Too little, you say? Well, it's a helluva lot more than the US seems to be able to effectively influence in the world, when once we could.

lol it's called cheap labor, that's all. Apple could easily automate the manufacture of iPods in Arizona, Oregon or New York

Apple is a cheap, catty, nasty organization - and everyone knows it

Fixed. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, despite readily available evidence to the contrary, but you are vastly incorrect in your last statement above.

Having a not-inconsiderable amount of Apple's stock, we read their 8-Ks, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, Proxy Statements and Annual Reports, as well as a considerable amount of FACTUAL news, unlike you, apparently.

Where's my wrench.... hmmm... OH, here it is:

Anyway, things like this always remind me of the late great Tony Benn's questions about democracy. N.B., he's NOT just talking about elected officials:

"In the course of my life I have developed five little democratic questions. If one meets a powerful person--Adolf Hitler, Joe Stalin or Bill Gates--ask them five questions:
    (1) “What power have you got? (2) Where did you get it from? (3) In whose interests do you exercise it? (4) To whom are you accountable? (5) And how can we get rid of you?” If you cannot get rid of the people who govern you, you do not live in a democratic system."

How did I miss him! I slapped hand with many Apple walkers and got two free iTunes download cards! LOL There were MORE Apple walkers than ANY other group in the parade. I ask one of them, 'so who's back manning the fort if you're all here?', the reply was, 'Oh there's plenty more back there!' icon_lol.gif
