Kick the Crap; How Do I Stop Eating Junk Food?

    So, exactly what it say in the title, how do I stop eating junk food? Munchies, fast food, all of that really tasty easy access food that is utterly horrible for the human body.

    How can I change the ritual of reaching for terrible treats that taste good with eating balanced, healthy foods. Preferably ones that actually taste good them self.

    If that's really you, it doesn't look like you have a problem with junk food. But, to avoid it, eat at home, avoid parties or eat before going, and keep your goal of staying healthy in mind.

    I think you just gotta start small . I started with soda. And rarely eat junk food now

    It's ok to eat junk food as long as you don't eat very much of it and don't eat it regularly.

    Every so often I buy a bag of Doritos; they're like crack for me. Same with eggnog this time of year.

    Don't stop cold turkey. Wean yourself off it slowly if you want to be successful. Augment your diet with healthy food. Try not to eat junk food but when you have a major craving, go ahead and have some. If you deny the craving too long, you'll binge out and eat a lot more than you wanted. Try to find the most 'real' food option when it comes to junk food - like cupcakes made from all natural ingredients. Eventually, your cravings will lessen.

    Don't go food shopping when hungry or stressed. When you crave junk, eat something healthy, even if you eat a lot of it, it's better than eating junk, and then you won't be hungry. Pass free time by exercising and catching up with friends.

    Prepare your work lunches in advance if you're buying junk on the go during the day and carry two snack items on you as well like fruit, a pot of plain yoghurt or a small bag of roasted seeds and nuts. You'll save cash and won't be caught short.
