The parliement in Uganda finally passed their dreaded legislation. In addition to life imprisonment for being gay, it is now illegal to talk publicly in favour of homosexuality.

It's American Christophobes' version of "Casablanca!"

    "We'll always have Uganda."

What a sad judgement. It was expected though.
And I don't see any silver lining either.

As I've said before, as frustrating as things can be in the United States at times, those of us who live here are very fortunate.

The un really needs to carve out a safe haven country for gays. They killed them just the same as jews, the world needs a safe haven to make up for all the stone age gorillas in power everywhere else.

Even if it is just one city on an island. Something has to be done.

    Fuck uganduh.

My hope is that the United States and other countries which tout themselves as civilized will open their borders as sanctuary to those seeking political asylum to escape a life persecuted simply for being gay.

That might be even more telling of a country's acceptance. That not only might we gain marriage rights to endow us with our humanity, but that we'd then recognize, acknowledge and protect also the humanity of citizens of the world.

Perhaps the next front for gay rights might be gay communities of more civilized countries forming and funding appropriate means to save our brothers and sisters from the torment forced onto their lives.

The Underground Railroad was a network of secret routes and safe houses used by 19th-century black slaves in the United States to escape to free states and Canada with the aid of abolitionists and allies who were sympathetic to their cause.[2] The term is also applied to the abolitionists, both black and white, free and enslaved, who aided the fugitives.[3] Various other routes led to Mexico or overseas

Or, perhaps you can tweet them to safety.
