So I have occasionally ventured into the local gym to try and work out but every time I seem to get discouraged by the ripped guys I see. Idk what to do or where to start. Any help?

It's cool just pick a routine and stick with it.

I recommend googling "Stronglifts 5x5 routine" or "Starting Strength." You'll get the best beginner gains from those in my opinion.

Don't compare yourself to them as they are. Remember: They didn't start out "ripped". Not one of them. If anything, use them as inspiration for what can be done if you work at it smart, hard and long. Unless you're athletic from youth and/or genetically gifted, it takes years of training to get that built, ripped look.

You've got to start somewhere! You'll get out exactly what you put in, too. So work hard, and you'll get somewhere.
