    End of the World

I don't wanna ride this roller caster
I think I wanna get off
    But they buckled me down
Like it's the end of the world

If you don't wanna have this conversation
    Then you better get out
Cause we're climbing to our death
At least that's what they want you to think

Just in case we jump the track
I have a confession to make
    Something like a corkscrew

    I don't wanna fall
    I don't wanna fly
I don't wanna be dangled over the edge
    Of a dying romance

    I don't wanna stop
    I don't wanna lie
    I don't wanna believe it's over
I just wanna stay with you tonight

I didn't mean to scream out quite so loudly
When we screeched to a halt
I'm just never prepared, for the end of the ride

Maybe we should get on something simpler
    Like a giant balloon
    I've got two tickets left
    And so do you

Instead of giving them away to some stranger
Lets make them count, come on
Let's get back in line again
    And ride the big one

    Don't you wanna fall
    Don't you wanna fly
Don't you wanna be dangled over the edge
    Of this aching romance?

If it's gonna help, then I wanna know
That we squeeze out every moment
    But if there's nothing left
Can you tell me why that it is you're holding on to me
Like it's the end of the world

You've caught me a little intoxicated and feeling sad.

Here's another that tears me up.

Especially at Christmas time, we remember those in harm's way, and those who have died for us.

    Here's to the heroes
, Those few who dare

    Heading for glory
, Living a prayer
    Here's to the heroes
, Who change our lives

    Thanks to the heroes
, Freedom survives
    Here's to the heroes
, Who never rest

    They are the chosen
, We are the blessed
    Here's to the heroes
, Who aim so high

    Here's to the heroes
, Who do or die

they're have been so many, but they were mostly in context to the surrounding events.

the first was my high school graduation song ('99). even though i would hate to go back, it was still sad leaving. i become a little emotional when i still hear it.

while the words aren't necessarily sad, in college, i was still in the closet and the below song made me desperately wish i were out and experiencing love as described.

regina spektor's songs and videos can be so beautiful, but some are so slow and sad. this one didn't make me cry, but it almost got me to that point.

    others...

There's only one song that have ever made me cried. The song is "Video Games" by Lana Del Rey.

The emotions are really overflowing and the fact that she looks deadly gorgeous (literally) here contributes to the cause as well.

One of the saddest songs I know:

Also Sia's "Breathe Me," used in the series finale of Six Feet Under. Wow.

And I agree with greekguy79: Fast Car is a heartbreaker.

Charlie Haden's vocals (with Pat Metheny on guitar) makes this rendition of Shenandoah a tearjerker
