    Hey guys,
It's been a really long time since I haunted the corridors of RJ - lurking and hoping to find inspiration from your abs. About a year ago I'd finally decided that I had had enough of failing to do it on my own and six months ago I had lap band surgery. I've honestly never felt better, but that's no surpise going from 153kgs (335lbs) to now 112kgs (246lbs).

I've still got around 50lbs or 23kgs until I reach my goal weight. Mind you, according to the BMI scales its about 33kgs but I'd settle for less.

So here i am, I'm back, I'm physically able to start battling my way into a gym/workout routine and I'm going to try doing less lurking and more learning from you guys.

I'm keen to hear from anyone who has successful gone from struggling to walk to the end of the street to being able to work hard and get great results. I know the psychological component is as important as anything.

I'm also keen to hear from anyone who knows how to work with guys who are big - and the unique challenges some of it presents in working out and losing weight.

Oh, and anyone who just wants to be friendly, chat or even hang out... I'd love to hear from you too!!

    Talk soon!

Do they have coolsculpting in Australia? I don't need it but it sounds interesting.

Wow, thanks for sharing the transformation pictures! Now if you don't mind, after your surgical procedure, are you advised what you can and cannot do? Please share as I am genuinely curious.

Hey, sorry I checked out for a bit there! There are no physical restrictions whatsoever after surgery (past the understandable recovery period of a week). I was moving pretty freely within a couple of days and back at work in seven.

I have no physical restrictions now, I can be involved in any form of sport or exercise. The only "restrictions" now are the kinds of foods I can eat and the quantities.

Red meat, especially steak, is out now. Basically it doesn't break down well enough when you chew to pass the band. I can't eat white bread and melted cheese anymore either. On balance, I basically can't eat the foods that go me into the mess in the first place, so it's all good!
