I've always wanted to get a tattoo across my chest of a beautiful woman taking a shit. That way, if I wiggle around a lot, it'll look like she's wiping her ass!

Single tatts don't look too good on..

    - Neck
    - Pec
    - Belly

If you're thinking about any of those areas, it's better if you get other tatts to fill in.

I like arm bands and if you're going for more, over one shoulder and extending to one pec. I think non-semetrical looks sexy.

I have one around my ankle, a circlet of dancing skeletons in top hats with canes, and a skull on the outside of my other ankle.

I regret having gotten them. They get fuzzy and blurry as you get older and don't look anywhere near as good as they did in the beginning.

Fortunately both aren't visible when I'm wearing shoes and socks, with pants or shorts, only when I'm wearing flip flops or sandals.

Typical places are chest, upper back, arm, leg and ribs. All those places work with one or more tattoos and combined or individual. They also allow you to cover up or show off as much as you like. The real question when it comes to aesthetic is what to get where. Something can look good on the ribs or chest but not on the arm or leg.

I have one on my back. I like it because you can cover it up for professional use.

You should choose a tat like you'd choose a mate. Choose one that doesn't piss ya off when you look at it on a daily basis. For myself, I choose tats that invoke a memory, or deeply held belief. Something to think about bro.

I was waiting for that! icon_twisted.gif

No, and I never thought of that until someone asked me. Facepalm moment. I hate the Dead. Every time I listen to their music I can't understand why people like them.

I forgot to say that when I got the first one I was thinking about how skulls had been a popular theme with tattoos so I was sort of going with the classic or old school look. Same with the second one.

I think the back or side of the shoulder is a great place for a single tattoo. If you decide to get more it can be incorporated into a bigger design. My favourite tattoos are the sleeves, but I can't imagine getting any personally.

Does anyone else find bad tattoos amusing?

There was (is?) a site where you submit a picture of your Asian tattoo and ask them what its translation is. Some are gibberish, some are a very rough translation. One girl asked for "wild girl" and what she got was "slut."

I'll be the one swimming against the tide. I find tattoos distracting. They are like grafitti on a beautiful building. I don't mind one on the upper arm, but I hate to see a great body covered in ink, especially when they turn green and lose sharpness. What was popular years ago can look dumb now also. A Duran Duran tattoo I saw at the gym for example, LOL. I did have a friend who had a magnificent black bear head on his upper arm, really well done. That one I really liked.

First tattoo? With your idea I say start with the shoulder/biceps. Pec is a good idea to, but I find it bare if it is your only one. Most people find these area the least painful.

I started with my shoulder, than my rib, than pec and now working on a half sleeve. Best part it's still hidden... at least for now lol.

I personally like the sleeve tattoos, although I am not into Tattoos, if I were to get one, that would be one I get, not the entire forearm, just the bicep area.

Ever since my best friend for 25+ years passed away in an accident 3 years ago, I have been contemplating a tattoo in memory of him. I am still trying to decide exactly what I want. In the meantime, someone suggested I get a "trial" tattoo done just to see what it is like. I think I will get a maple leaf done on the back of one of my calfs. That is a real looking maple leaf, not a stylized one like what is on the Canadian Flag.
