    Flags Of Our Fathers

    Closing scene below

I saw this movie in the theatre when it opened. As the closing credits rolled and people began filing out, no one spoke, it was silent. Powerful movie.

Didn't watch to avoid spoilers, but I suspect the conventional answer would be "Saving Private Ryan," which probably set the bar for "Flags of Our Fathers."

I also saw Saving Private Ryan in the theatre on its opening weekend and remember the first half hour of the movie is gut wrenching and graphic. That was another film where at the end when people walked out no one was talking, there was absolute silence.

This movie was just OK to most people I know. The other movie "Letters from Iwo Jima" was a much better film I thought from the Japanese perspective.
