It seems my pictures never do me justice and people tell me i look better in person. Any of you had this issue and did you start taking more professional pics?

It's why I have a picture of my dog as my profile pic. Although people never tell me I look better in person… icon_smile.gif

The thing you have to remember is that photos are flat and 2 dimensional. So photos won't convey all the details of your face. That's why make-up is used on models to exaggerate those features.

People that are considered photogenic usually have bold facial features. And that boldness/depth naturally carries over in the photo.

I think it's a little overboard to get professional photos done for the sake of posting on profile sites. You just need to find the right lighting and strike the right pose to get a good pic of yourself. Natural sunlight is the best. Fluorescent lights are the worst. Whether you're taking a selfie with a mirror or using a camera on a tripod, you want to make sure you have the right distance between you and the camera.

It's going to take a lot of trial and error to find a picture that comes out right. Just be patient.

People who've seen my pictures that meet me in person can't hide their lack of disappointment; they practically do a double-take. Either I'm unphotogenic or everyone else uses 15 year old photos.

The most photogenic people - male models I've known - tend to have lollipop heads and exaggerated facial features. To the untrained eye they look like regular people in person.

    Everyone should have our problems.

I've always looked better in person than in pics. Always. (Who here loves how they appear on their driver's license?) And since I meet people in real life all the time - and stand next to no chance of actually connecting face to face with anybody here - I couldn't care less.

Taking pictures of myself: Okay, not too bad I guess.

Someone else taking a picture of me: Oh my god get it away! Get it away! icon_lol.gif

None of my pictures do me justice and people always tell me I look better in person. I suppose that's better than the reverse.
I take 20 pictures for everyone that I post in the group. I never come out right.

I think everyone looks better in person than their pictures. Your personality shines through and complements your features.

Count me in as someone who's awful in pictures. But then I know several guys who look better in pics than in person. Kinda sucks for them.
