Who else is going opening day? I'll be in line by 8:00 on the 18th. Probably going to Peabody's in Birmingham or Mr B's again in Royal Oaks on Friday night.

Open to a meet up Friday night if anyone else is interested. Has to be in sort of a family oriented place though because I'll have a 19 yr old with me who obviously can't get into 21 and over clubs. Again, thinking of Peabody's in Birmingham or Mr. Bs in Royal Oaks.

I wish that I could join you for this massive auto show in downtown Detroit. I have never been to a "real auto show" like this one in Detroit. The only auto shows I have ever been to were glorified horse and pony shows here in Buffalo and in Austin, TX.

See the 2015 Mustang, the 2015 ZO6, ATS-v, maybe the CTS-v. Could also see the big full size Cadillac, but I don't think that's quite ready yet. Same goes for the Gen 6 F-Body. I thought they might show it to blunt the new Mustang, but I haven't heard anything positive about the possibility.

Like the little dealer show here in Columbus ... SUCKS. NAIAS is great though and it will be in the almost finished, hugely rehabbed Cobo.

You're really no further away than I am ... that is if you go down through Ontario.

And btw, the new full size, rear wheel drive V8 Continental won't be shown this year either.

Two weeks in advance it's pretty cheap although demand will be pretty high during this period. Almost better to fly into Chicago or Toledo and rent and drive might be cheaper.

Please tell us about the "new full size, rear wheel drive V8 Continental"...lol.

Does it exist in the alternate fantasy universe, along with a gay friendly republican party, square circles and other impossibilities?

Flying in and out of Detroit is expensive plus there will be a bunch coming and going during the show. Might be much cheaper to do Toledo or Chicago.

I've never flown to Detroit. Why is it expensive?

It's similar to flying into Cincinnati versus Columbus. When have an airport pretty much locked up by one airline it gets more expensive as Cincinnati is with Delta. Detroit is with Northwest.

I don't any recent experience because even when I lived in LA I'd fly in and out if Columbus because I'm from here.

You still haven't told us about this "new full size, rear wheel drive V8 Continental" ...perhaps because you know there isn't one even planned?

Why do you make a post that seems true (anybody can visit NAIAS and verify there is no such car)...yet deceives every RJ'er into believing Lincoln is planning such a car, with your bald faced deception?

    Yeah fuck you Mark

Now regarding the continental. No, no final approval yet. However, if Lincoln wants to have a presence in china it will be necessary. If Lincoln want to compete with more than Buick or Acura it will be necessary. If Lincoln wants a ghost of a chance to compete with Cadillac it will be necessary.

Much depends on who replaces Alan when he retires. If its Mark Fields as its expected to be, it will happen. If it does reach final, it will be MY 2017, a year behind behind Cadillac big rear wheel drive LTS.

Now tell us all what the fuck makes you so knowledgeable?

Be sure to bookmark this thread so when you come back with another one of your TM socks someday, you can inform us all of the results.

Oh come on, anybody can see through your cover-up.

You were spreading one of your deceptions and got bagged. Just man up and own it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Since you've been here since only 12-27-13 it's kinda soon for you to know about anyone's 'deceptions'. Right Mark? And speaking of deceptions, don't think you're fooling anyone with that weather screen shot of your phone. I could even do that for Big Pine Key. Problem is that my phone would show 4G instead of 3G, which would be correct for Big Pine Key. You really think you're fooling us this time, don't you punk?

And again, regarding the continental .... no final approval yet so nothing to get "bagged" about. But since you been here one way or another for a lot longer than I have, why don't you go back through my old posts and show me in hindsight where I blew it. Since I post anything car related the the Science and technology forums, I just made your job a lot easier.

Given that I'm not exactly rich, I'll probably settle for this in this color

    http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2014-chevrolet-ss-first-drive/full/#photo-1916324

Big V8 and wonderful to drive so it's good enough.

You can always dream... Not sure how much that Mercedes will go for, but I'm sure is nothing shorter than $160K like the current model.

That SS looks nice, great specs and nice price. Darn, I'm so behind in GM news lately. I didn't know they made another sedan to compliment the new Malibu and Impala.

NO way on the MB just in case I would keep something after the warranty expires.

My current G8 has been great but it's getting to be that time again.

I've had some repairs though .... a fog lamp bulb and I dropped the key FOB enough times that I had to replace it ... for under $30.
