    I just went through the body type profiles..
    A lot of the beefy guys just look overweight
    And the athletic guys and defined guys look the same build wise..
    I thought beefy was like muscular just not super lean?

    The thing is, everyone has their own interpretation of beefy, muscular, defined, athletic, etc.

    I don't take it seriously. I think most guys make the right choice, in my opinion. Just a small number of guys think very highly of themselves. icon_lol.gif

    To me beefy is not lean and well defined. Beefy is how power lifters look; big muscles but not necessarily lots of definition. But as xrichx says, everyone's got their own definition.

    There are quite a few profiles whose body type doesn't look anything like their photo. Very muscular guys will call themselves "defined" and skinny guys will call themselves "muscular."
    They're also quite a few guys with names like "too_muscular_to_be_believed" who will list their body type as "average."
    Go figure.

    I've always wondered what the majority rules as "Beefy."

    I guess some would say the man below is considered Beefy, while others might say he's Muscular because he has definition?

    It's not as bad as the guys who have some form of "hot", "sexy" or "big dick" in their screen name, and have no pics to prove it.

    I have listed myself as beefy, as I consider it muscular fatty. I am leaning up, and might need to change it to just muscular.

    I had mine listed as overweight and more than one person messaged me and said I should change it. Beefy was the next best option.

    Beefy on OK Cupid is a guy wearing a baggy raincoat that you can barely get your arms around to hug.

    i agree with OP. i see a lot of fat guys calling themselves "beefy" and personally, i don't know what to put, so i chose "athletic" cuz i'm an athlete. everything else seems debatable.

    Mariusz above (one of my favs) is muscular... really muscular.
    This guy below is beefy.
    (You know, the G is right next to the V on the keyboard. Wouldn't it have been funny if I made a typo on "favs?")

    These definitions have changed. Please take notes and adjust your expectations accordingly.......

    1984 Body Type Definitions:

    Athletic = Probably a profession athlete who has a stunning body.
    Average = Well....average. Not fat and not skinny, but a decent build.
    Beefy = Muscular body with a thin layer of fat.
    Defined = Shows a six pack with minimal fat.
    Muscular = Muscles everywhere. Think bodybuilder.
    Overweight = Fat
    Slim = Skinny but probably doesn't workout. Usually lean but not muscular.
    Stocky = Halfway between Beefy and Overweight.
    Truly Ripped = 6% body fat with an eight pack.

    2014 Body Type Definitions:

    Athletic = He played volleyball this one time with his sister.
    Average = Fat
    Beefy = Fat, but passes it off as muscle
    Defined = Usually has a nice separation between fat rolls.
    Muscular = Fat guy who works out.
    Overweight = Will be buried in a piano case.
    Slim = Most likely a walking skeleton.
    Stocky = Fat
    Truly Ripped = Good chance he has a deadly disease.

    Scruffy, did you make up those definitions yourself? Funny stuff.
    While we're on the subject, I answered an ad once for a guy who said he was "in shape."
    I guess "in shape" meant to him that he had a good heart rate and was healthy... because his body was completely unattractive. Flat as a board on all sides.
    He also had no eyelashes and smelled funny so that pretty much was the deal breaker.
