Is Evander Holyfield a registered Republican? Is EVERYONE who disagrees with you a registered Republican? Once again, the Kray-Kray Kolonel injects politics into an APOLITICAL topic just to stir up trouble.
This is interesting. I don't agree with a lot of your views SB, but I must admit you are right here. Not to call Art Deco kraykray, but to AD, you are actually making a negative statement about republicans where the topic wasn't anything related republicans or political views. This was just about the homophobic statements of some dumb person.
If you'd all just calm down a little and stop bringing the Republican-Democrat debate into every thread, you may actually become friends some day
Once again my stalker, whom I have blocked, deliberately misquotes me. I did not say Holyfield was a Republican himself, but he was quoting Republican positions.
Things we hear actual Republicans, even office holders & candidates, say every day. The most recent example, which had a thread here, being that gays cause tornadoes. And there are similar examples all the time.
So that I don't think it is gays who should be on the defensive when those slanders are made, but rather the Republicans who are routinely saying them. And to ask the question of how much their anti-gay hostility influences others, including people like Holyfield.
Did Holyfield get his inspiration from the US Right Wing, and its media outlets, to say what he did? That I can't say. But it tracks with the hatred coming from the Right, and it would be unreasonable to believe that their pronouncements against gays were issued in a vacuum, and influenced no one at all.
