Does anyone else have a tough time choosing between keeping your mouth shut or telling someone to chill out, especially on the internet?

One of the blogs (not on RJ) that I read is by this one guy that's super young (around 1icon_cool.gif and every one of his posts makes it sound like the world is going to end. He didn't get his driver's license recently, and is talking like it's the end of the world.

Remembering myself at that age, I remember that stuff like that was a huge deal to me. But now, I just think "Man, wait a few years till you have real problems."

I was tempted to reply to his post and say that, but figured it was better not to. At the same time as thinking the above, I sort of wish I could still get that emotional or excited about pretty much anything. There's very little now that makes me think the world is going to end. But there's also very little that excites me like that.

Anyone else feel like that sometimes?

PS. This is not meant to be a slam on younger guys at all. I'm trying to get at the fact that there are pro's and con's to being younger, and all of the excitement and drama that goes with that

PPS. I realize that I could also just not read this guy's blog. Again, not really what I'm getting at. I'm not trying to complain about his posts. Just doing some introspection.

Ah, 30 year olds. I remember how I was when I was 30 reading 16 year old blogs. How silly I was then. But I grew out of it. Don't worry, it'll pass.

(Excuse the thick application of sarcasm please!) :-P icon_lol.gif

Yes, well in the next phase you will realize that the thing to do is cynically harness that youthful energy and con them into expending it to your own nefarious ends.

Um... I mean "to save the planet" or some appropriate bs, of course

    INVADE EARTH!

    MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

I'm only 22, but I do find myself rolling my eyes at angst-ridden 16-25 year olds. Plus when I was 18... I was kind of like that. icon_redface.gif I think it has to do with the hormones thing. icon_razz.gif Every little thing gets magnified. You get massive moodswings, fall in and out of love bordering on obsessive every two weeks, have the impulse to jerk off every 3 hours, fuck everything that moves, and believe you have found the answers to all the problems of the world as well as the secrets of the Universe and everyone who dare tells you otherwise are just jealous of your superior intellect. A mild version of the messiah complex probably. Everything is filtered through the ego during those ages... some people never grow out of that though. icon_confused.gif

Driver's license? Why drive when you can write bad poetry about how automobiles are beneath you? You're life is over anyway. =O
