I went vegan and lost excess weight steadily. I'm sure cutting out all dairy products helped. I remember reading somewhere that bodybuilders stop eating all dairy products when they're cutting. Now I just drink soy and almond+coconut milk.

I switched to almond milk and I love it. The big advantages I found are 1) it has far less calories and at my age, calorie counting is essential! LOL and 2) it lasts much longer than milk. I don't have milk every day so buying a smaller container so I didn't have to throw away spoiled milk was a pain.

Some don't like the taste (actually does have an almond taste) but if you're using it over cereal or something like that, you hardly taste the almond.

Well skim milk which I drink, is still full of sugar. 90 calories for 7 g of protein isn't exactly a good ratio.

I tried giving up skim milk for a while. I have about 10 oz each morning with my protein shake and some oatmeal for breakfast. I started using water instead but then became concerned I wasn't getting enough calcium. Calcium pills supply 3% of your RDA so that really isn't a good substitute. What do you guys do to get calcium? Is that a real issue for men?

I have significantly less allergies since I'm cut milk out of my diet. Though I miss it's use for putting on weight. icon_confused.gif

With almond milk the regular stuff is sweetened with sugar. The unsweetened doesn't taste nearly as good as the sweetened. I buy the unsweetened and sweeten it with stevia, sucralose, monk fruit powder, etc.

My Milk consumption now is pretty much just what I use in my protein shakes, and what I pour in my tea. Otherwise, I really don't drink milk as a beverage anymore.

That's a shitload of milk. It's good for your calves, though, if you have any.
