How does one calculate how much protein one needs to gain muscle on a daily basis?

Also: Is it possible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time?

Or should you focus on gaining weight and when you are satisfied with your muscle gain, losing fat weight?

One tip I read of for gaining muscle(combined with training) is to eat 1.5grammes of good quality, low fat protein per kilogram of body weight per day.
Another point is to make sure you eat enough calories generally to ensure muscle growth(too few and the body cannibalizes muscle for energy, especially so when working out a lot!)

Agree with the gents so far. 1-1.5 gram per pound is good if you are lifting regularly and happy where you are at (higher end if you are trying to add just a lil size or maintain while losing some fat). Up it a bit to 1.8 if you are trying to add on some size.

Dont forget to determine how MUCH you are trying to weigh , then determine the amount of grams of protien and carbohydrate youll need to get there.
Its plus or minus depending on your goal...

Youll have to do like the rest of us and experiment to see if you can accomplish the last questions-its a matter of genetics , planning and determination
