There's always going to be someone hotter, fitter, and pushing more weight than you. Always. You can resign yourself to be perpetually dissatisfied or accept and be happy with what you're doing.

Are you trying to be a powerlifter or be fit?

My bench is still at 67.5kg icon_sad.gif if you want I can come to your gym and look inferior next to you.

Having said that I like the attention I get when I load 160kg onto the Smith machine for calf raises icon_biggrin.gif

Even though my calves still look like a small child's

As Matiz said there will always be someone who is hotter, fitter etc.. So next time you are jealous at a guy, just think about that there is probably a guy in the gym who is jealous at you icon_wink.gif

A trainer told me MANY years ago.. you can only compete with yourself!
Your genes are the ones you were given. Make the most of them.

I don't mean this in any really mean way but why would you be surprised someone can bench more than 215?

I find envy motivating. And not just in the gym. It's all about degree and balance.

Everyone is a little envious of each other. It's normal.

icon_cool.gif oh no not at all :-) 215 is a good weight for me right now considering I started from just doing the bar..so I wasn't surprised this guy is solid muscle but it was just more of a like ( Dammnn!) Thought going on in my head

I don't think the word envy really applies to me, or even jealous. If there is a word that has the same kind of connotation but in a positive way then I am that word. Whatever it is, it just gives me more motivation to do what needs to be done.

And this is to give away free cookies and cakes to all the super fit guys. Why should I work when I can just make them out of shape. icon_wink.gif

I'm only envious of people who look worse than me getting laid [for free] by people who look better than me.

    It just ain't fair! icon_mad.gif

EXACTLY that's something to envy about or simply couples where one is a WTF! and the other look like a magazine model. I do know the answer to that one: interest $$$ or that ugly person sweet talks and have a confidence that attractive guys lack.
For real! We should lay each other just to prove to them that average mediocre-looking people can get laid too. icon_biggrin.gif

Years ago there was an average mediocre looking gay guy in my NYC building who was a total slut, getting laid almost every night by someone new, while I stayed home. I'd see some of the guys he'd bring home. His secret? He didn't have great game - apparently, even though everybody tries to date "up" these guys settle daily knowing they can bump uglies with each other.

    EXCELLENT advice.
I was always motivated by seeing guys who were bigger than I was.
