I always wondered exactly how long I could conceivably walk around with a woody before thinking to myself, "Hey, now, wait a minute... maybe it ISN'T just the stiff breeze..."

But I'm sure not gonna crash my bike to find out!

The correct grammar should have been "seven-week erection." Seven week LONG erection is rather a difficult thing to imagine.

But when I see medications that warn of an erection side effect, and advise seeing a doctor if it lasts more than 4 hours, I always think:

"See a DOCTOR? If I have a 4-hour erection I'll be seeing every gay guy I know!" icon_biggrin.gif

"For reasons that aren't clear, he waited five weeks before seeking treatment at Dublin's Tallaght Hospital, where it took doctors two weeks to find a cure."

Oh, I think it's sort of clear.

I found this story difficult to believe.

First of all, it's from Gawker.

Second, any man who has had a constant erection for five weeks would be in extreme pain. I don't think anyone would last that long before seeing a doctor... not even on the PBS fictional series "Doc Martin", set in the small folksy seaside town of "Portwenn" (Port Isaac), Cornwall.

This guy didn't have a normal erection.
A normal erection happens when blood flows into your penis and doesn't flow out. That's why if you get priapism it's a problem. Minimal flow in and out for to long and the tissues get damaged for lack of oxygen. Essentially, a boner for too long will make your penis turn black and fall off.
This man had high flow priapism. Crashing into his handle bars tore an artery and vein. These healed abnormally and he had a fistula (=abnormal connection) between them. So he had high flow in and out of his penis. Hence the constant boner without it turning black and falling off. In this case there is nk relation to arousal. It is just a plumbing problem.
Allegedly, the constant pressure of the high flow can enlarge the penis but i am not sure if that is correct. If it was there'd be clinics in Mexico creating the fistulae...
