Advertising funded textbooks (BookBoon.no) - know of similar sites?

For those of us who like more books and more (technically) free swag, there's a site called BookBoon, which offers advertising funded textbooks.

The books primarily concern economics, engineering, and hard sciences (no poli. sci., *whimper*).

You do not need to belong to a Norwegian academic institution to download them (you can select "Other" and "Other" for institution and position).

While it feels weird to have ads in a textbook, it sure beats paying bundles of cash.

Do you know any sites with free books / scholarly texts, a la BookBoon and Project Gutenberg?

Hmmm... wish I knew of this site when I was still in college. The only 'technical' book I have an interest in reading at the moment is Hawking's A Brief History of Time, and that site doesn't have it. icon_sad.gif

Only similar site I know of is Project Gutenberg, http://www.gutenberg.org/. Though they only have mostly old books and free books of course.
