Giving that straight guy a hug

A friend of mine is stressed and there is this overwhelming urge to give him a hug but I restrain myself. He was applying for universities and doing these assignments and I gave him a hand on some of the questions. He's all finished and I just felt like giving him a massive hug. But I did not.

He is straight and I am gay. We mostly text each other as well.

I have another friend and he is straight. I send hugs all the time and it's cool. How comfortable are you with hugging? Do you have straight friends who find hugging weird?

Usually if I hug some of my straight friends, it always includes a couple of pats on the back and/or a handshake beforehand. I never really just open arms and run up and hug someone...gay or straight. just my personal preference. family is different.

Where I live is totally normal to kiss and give big hugs, specially to your friends so it would never be weird.

If I am drunk I usually hug them and lift them of the ground. Less likely when sober, because I am British.

You only wish you lived here just to kiss and touch everyone.

Hugging straights is acceptable as long as you don't bump uglies. It's a shoulder hug.

based on most posts on this site related to straight friends, it seems the thing to do is ask if you can fuck him

I am hugger at heart , and my straight mates enjoy my hugs . Hugs is a way to show how much you care about someone .
Only insecured "straight men" would take offense .

Hugging is THE BEST! Its like a mini cuddle that isn't terribly awkward to do with your family... hmm uhh icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyways Hug Him! Not a long one, just a short buddy thing

If you have to think about hugging someone, you shouldn't be hugging them, either because you don't know them well enough or you'd make it uncomfortable by being uncomfortable with it, or both.

I think most guys need hugging. I have lots of straight friends that I hug. I have one that knows about me and pretends like he is molesting me sometimes. Sucks on my neck. He says he doesn't like the dick though. Just go for it. Greet him next time and shake hands and pull him in. Just do it. Don't ask.

I hug all of my straight guy friends.
One time I even got manwich'd at a party. icon_lol.gif Like a real manwich, LOL, with me in the middle. Totally embarrassing.

Haha one time I ran into this guy from work in Toronto who is super hot, and in front of my BOYFRIEND exclaims,
    "ALEX!!! OH MY GOD!!!"
Lifts me off the ground and swings me around like in one of those romantic comedies.

This happens to me all the god damn time and I have no idea why. Can't exactly complain though. icon_razz.gif

I like this straight guy, but I know it will never be; however, I haven't admitted my feelings to him, but I'm afraid of what he'll think I'll feel when I get rejected lol. Honestly, all I just want is a big hug from him - that's all... Just so that I can get over it and move on with my life. He isn't the type of guy to be an ass to me, but I'm afraid lol. I could use a big hug :/

It's nice to get hugged... Ya know... From some handsome guy that just makes you feel secure lol. I guess that's why I love men so much... The sense of comfort that they bring icon_smile.gif

I only hug the ones that I know very well. My straight friends and I hug each other whenever we see each other. It's not something we think about. We just do it.

During high school my friends had no problem giving hugs.

I'm not as affectionate now so it's mainly hand shakes and an occasional shoulder squeeze.

I wish that I could afford round trip airfare to Uruguay. I have heard so many wonderful things about that country.

    Must be a bottom thing...
Not a huger, mostly an ass slapper, chest puncher.
