Forum members can now ignore the posts of Hidden/Deleted members.

Also, the "Report spam" link has been activated on Forum posts so I'll start seeing members show up as "spammers", and I'll remove them.

YourName2000 saidAny chance of having the "report spam" link updated to "report spam/abuse", so that it can kill two (horrible, forum-killing) birds at once??

Even if such an upgrade needs time to be recoded into the site, what are your feelings, Jeff, if we use "report spam" to quickly report obviously abusive posts?

I 100% agree! That's what I use the Report Spam button for. To let Jeff know when someone's being a Bully or acting like a 2 yr. old in the threads.

I wonder how long it will take for people to just kick others off by spamming the spammer button.

I sense this might not go the way you intend it to and what other members here expect from it, but let's just see how things go anyway and learn from that experience.

I guess 5 years late is better than nothing at all. icon_lol.gif

    Other wishlist items..

    - Can we bring back text formatting on profiles?

    - Add "Ignore This Thread" feature. There's already a feature to Track threads. So I know that can easily be adapted to Ignore threads as well. It's like 5 lines of code at most!

    - Add 30 second posting delay for ALL members, not just unverified members.

    - Add user option to display embedded media as links instead. This would be great for mobile users and guys that live in areas with no broadband. For examples on why this is a much desired feature, please visit any "favorite song/video" thread.

    - Auto trim quotes. When you press the Quote button, it should only quote the person you're replying to. Currently, it quotes the person you're replying to AND the person he replied to AND they person he replied to.. etc. For examples, go see any thread in the politics forum.

I hope this doesn't happen. Hopefully Jeff will give the reported members the benefit of the doubt.

well, other members have done it in the past to others just to be total dicks. i hope jeff and the administrators pretty much check other members especially the ones known to be going out of bounds all the time.

I think the admin is smart enough to figure out when people are attacking and when they are being attacked.

I've been a member of this site for 7 years and have never put anyone on 'ignore', until today. Ah, bliss.

Now it shows up in the bottom right corner of each reply so you can click it to rid the 'spammer'.
