    Paleocons for Putin
Missing the days when gays stayed in the closet and Christianity reigned, the old right embraces Russia’s autocrat as the world’s foremost defender of “traditional values.”

In another thread there seems to be a lot of confusion about who admires Putin. Mr Google says it's the American conservatives who have a hard on for Vladimir.

Easy answer: because US Republicans hate democracy, and identify with Fascist totalitarianism. Historically they always have, and always will.

[quote][cite]YourName2000 said[/cite]While the right loves to vilify anything they don't like as "socialist" and "communist", the fact of the matter is that under Putin, Russia has become an oligarchy. And the right LOVES oligarchies because they see that as even better than democracy. The reason? Oligarchy isn't 'government by the people', it's 'government by the RIGHT people' (the rich), and conservatives always think *they* are the "right people". icon_rolleyes.gif[/quote
You are 100% correct on that one. Both the right wing neocons and the NARROW MINDED BIBLE THUMPING SCREWBALLS want total control over the people to serve their own self aggrandizement.

". The paleocons claim to love America, but it is an old America that claims their allegiance.
Today, they see a land of increasing racial diversity, tolerance of homosexuality, urbanization, and other indicators of progress and can do nothing but grumble.

It tells you everything you need to know about the paleocons that they look to Putin’s Russia—a brutal society marked by violent nationalism, social breakdown, domestic authoritarianism, and foreign aggression—as a place to emulate.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/01/13/paleocons-for-putin.html This is article by James Kirchick details the new love affair American Republicans are having with Putin. Disgusting.

You have failed to say how American Conservatives love Putin. Maybe a few. For different reasons.

But a blanket statement of how Conservatives like Putin is ridiculous.

And saying that it's an Oligarchy and therefore, it's a right wing ideology is stupid.

Oligarchies can be Left or Right wing. Depends on the conduct of those who run the country.

    Russia is still faux-Democratic Socialist.

Because conservatives wish they had the authority in the United States to do what Russia is doing. I can count dozens of Republican members of Congress who would support the exact same legislation that has been put into place in Russia, if it was introduced here.
