Gay film wins major award at Sundance

"Burger, directed by Magnus Mork, won the Special Jury Award for Direction and Ensemble Acting for its depiction of gay visitors to a late-night burger bar in Cardiff, UK.

The short drama was praised by the jury ‘for its uncanny observation of complex social dynamics and succeeding when it could have gone so wrong."

    .....

"‘Burger’ was among 66 other films, chosen from a selection of 8,200 submissions, vying for the award."

Didn't really seem like a gay film nor a film about gays. Just felt like a film about young adults.

I liked it. What it did it did well, and... it didn't take long to do it icon_smile.gif

The ending was a little weird to me, but it's reasonable.

those fags were soo annoying, namely the super obnoxious one that goes "boo" in the end. It made me think of him as a chihuahua with big dog syndrome. The group of straight guys were pretty obnoxious too which made me laugh how the homos seemed butt hurt about it.

Great short! I wouldn't necessarily call it a "gay" film. Just a film about a real life type situation.

Lord, this reminds me so much of late night England...it is so accurate! All the petty alpha-male argumentation and near fighting, yet somehow tempers never completely boil over. I thought it captured that really well.

Meh... they all seem like caricatures to me. I guess that comes with the 11 minute territory.

Are we sure it's not a gay memory card rather than film?
