Biggest Turn-Offs

What are your biggest turn-offs when scoping a potential mate? I want to hear some of 'em.
For me? It doesn't matter how hot or confident a guy is, if he's self-conscious and can't laugh at himself, he's gone. Not attractive at all.
To me, its infinitely more ugly of character than women who take compliments the wrong way. :s
Men like this tend to misconstrue everything. Every word is an affront to their huge ego

Mhm. Could you be more specific? Like they don't know where they're going in life, or they can't recognize their own flaws?

Turn off is when a guy says hes never going to have a relationship with a man because hes just curious

someone who is unaccepting of who i am as a person and won't call me out on my shit when i'm fucking up or when i'm wrong. once again, i'm willing to do the same thing in return. in other words, i like rap music. if he thinks i'm going to stop listening to rap to please his ass or start listening to whatever he likes, then it won't work. if i'm wrong or doing something that isn't right, he should be able to call me out on it.

I agree with all of your points, but especially this one.
Being fickle because of someone's taste in music? If they're a great person, what does it matter what they listen to, or what T.V. shows they watch? It's annoying when friends and significant others can't compromise on the basis of something so inane.

Man, who said that to you? I will fly over there right now and kick his ass!
Seriously though, that really bites. It's demeaning to you as a person, and also totally ignorant of the fact that you're such a great guy!

Not just about relationships, but any guy in a social context:
"Enough about you. Let’s talk about me!"

Although very thankful for them when they happen. Pity fucks can be a turn-off. They never had any intention of really getting to know you. But hey, dead people need sex too. icon_redface.gif

Agree! But not one I would have thought of right away, I guess because so few guys I've dated have ever done that. But yeah, it has happened, and also by acquaintances.

And not only did I sympathize with the mistreated person, but it humiliated and embarrassed ME to be associated in public with such a creep. But it would only be once, because he'd never get to see me again.

In fact, in one case I actually took the restaurant server aside privately, apologized for the abusive treatment, and gave him a special tip. The jerk wasn't my BF, but in a party of 10, that included his own partner, and mine. My husband & I talked about it afterwards, and agreed we wouldn't socialize with that gay couple any more, and we didn't.

Fortunately my silverware is stainless steel and my china is stoneware. It started out as random pieces I picked up at garage sales and thrift shops.

Please define "pedestrian". I prefer clean & simple, but elegant. I hate gaudy or overly trendy on the table.

But even when I've seen terrible settings, I figured if we ever became partners I'd be in charge of the table, as I've always been, and I could correct such failings. Bad tableware hasn't been a deal-breaker for me. The poor boy just needs to be shown the light. icon_wink.gif

-Rudeness/conceded (Just a huge turn off, especially with what Ohno public service comment. That's just low and ugly.)
-Closet Cases (I can't handle that unfortunately)
-Heavy drinkers (I'm not a drinker myself and I can tolerate if the guy drinks socially on occasion but not every day)
-Smokers (I'm trying to work on this one as a lot of people seem to smoke these days... But right now, I just can't)
-Close minded (especially for those who feel they have to criticize EVERY SINGLE THING)

For me it's when I chat with some guys, no matter how hot or good looking they are, they seem to only want sex. And that is a turn off for me, since I want an emotional bond with one as well.
