Has anyone else noticed how difficult it is to find previous threads using the search function on RJ? Has it been changed recently? It makes it really difficult to see if a post on a topic has already been posted or finding a previous post.

It seems to work on some posts but not others. Is there a delay in the search engine database being updated? And even so, some older posts don't show up.

For example, I just posted this new topic:
    http://www.realjock.com/gayforums/3645451

I'm pretty sure there was another previous post on this but I could not find it.

I did a search for 'Munoz' and the new post does not show up either.

Yup, I tried the search to and it didn't show. My guess is that they are using a data base of sorts for the search ... I forget what the utility is called in Unix ... but you have to run it so that new entries will be search ... it is likely run later in the day, so if you just logged the issue, you might not be able to search for it immediately

Probably obvious, but I noticed a long time ago that you have to use the search box within the forums to find a forum. The one on the front page won't do it.

I've tried searching for love on this thing too but that function doesn't work either. Bad website, bad.

You will never find your old posts.
It gives you the thread in which your own old posts buried in; it's up to you to browse all the posts to find yours.
I think it's more useful if it gives your post id in that thread; or directly go to the right page. Paging is not a fresh new technology nowadays.

The main search engine hasn't been foolproof for locating profiles either. icon_mad.gif E.g. type my screen name and click "search," you may or may not be taken to my page URL.

Yes, I've noticed the search function seems to be working less thoroughly lately. I've been getting around it with multiple searches using various key word combos.
