Try talking to most Conservatives about the environment and they brag about how much gas their gas guzzling car uses. Try having a conversation about genetically modified food or pesticides and they always side with the big corporations like Monsanto. Talk about pollution and they will tell you pollution is good for you. Radiation? Naww, bananas are more radioactive than Fukushima. Want to discuss recycling? They'll be quick to brag how they don't recycle and are very frank about how they don't give a rat's ass about future generations because they wont be here. Think I'm making this shit up? I can post links to forums right here on this site where these fucktards are saying shit like this. Are they really just evil personified or can they really be this stupid?

My god, I never thought such hypocrisy and projection could exist icon_razz.gif

If you actually thought outside the Leftist Universe you live in, you would actually see that the only name callers and insulters here are people like you, YourName2000 (probably the worst) and Aristoshark.

But of course, you see in opposite terms.

Must be nice living in delusion world.

Ahh, look who came to the party. I got news for you kid....I ain't a "Lefty" OR a "Righty." I don't necessarily follow all of the opinions of the party I vote for. I actually think about each issue independently and form my own opinions! *GASP!* But you can't say the same. Every word from your mouth is regurgitated from Rush Limpdick. You don't have an original thought in your head. And even though I think he's an evil piece of shit....I listen to ole' Rush EVERY DAY. So when you and your little friends repeat that crap, I know what you're going to say before you even say it....word for word. icon_lol.gif

I assume you mean Rush Limbaugh? Your accusation of my repeating him would make sense...

...if I listened him icon_razz.gif I don't even know who or what he works for. All I know is that he has bad hair.

You may not agree with all of what the Democrats or Republicans say, but from observing what you write, it follows very closely with Leftist ideology.

YourName2000 saidLol, ya know, I would LOVE living rent free in Pollyturd's head if weren't such a run down dump in the shitty part of town, lol.

He perfectly exemplifies what we're talking about....18yo, ZERO experience in the world, is so painfully stupid he actually believes that Hitler was a liberal [smdh at that one], but oh no, the lil' tyke is just soooo much smarter than anyone else, hahaha.

So yeah, I'm DEFINITELY sticking with brain damage. Pollytard is too naive to have had the world influence him yet...his ignorance has got to be genetic damage. Maybe mommy was a methhead. icon_confused.gif

Hey Pollyturd: you're not fit to wash my underwear....frankly, I doubt you wash your own. It would explain your shitty outlook on life. icon_lol.gif

But your assumption is that he really is 18. So many of these Right Wingers here are socks with phony profiles.

We know from other cases, like with NOM, that the Right sends agents to disrupt liberal sites. It would be astonishing if a site as large as RJ was exempt from these intrusions.

We also know that Right Wing talk radio has call-in agents, pretending to be ordinary listeners, who endorse the anti-left propaganda the radio host is selling. And of course the most egregious example has to be former President Bush planting phony reporters at his news conferences, to ask flattering questions for which his answers were prepared in advance.

So you'll understand if I'm suspicious of some of these guys here, given the Right's track record. The same day they join a GAY HEALTH & FITNESS SITE they unleash a torrent of anti-gay and anti-Democratic propaganda, which, as noted here by others, tracks verbatim with the conservative media and Republican Party line.

    Amazing, isn't it? icon_rolleyes.gif

One looks silly and totally ignorant to paint all conservatives with the same broad brush. It would be no less ignorant to paint all left-leaning people the same way. Generalizing is just plain lazy and misinformed.

Much of what is on the internet as far as political opinion goes is definitely astro turf for the special interest groups and the rest of it is just keyboard commandos who believe they are right about everything all of the time.

Today's column by a brilliant economist in California is the perfect reply. icon_smile.gif

    By Thomas Sowell

JewishWorldReview.com | One of the things that attracted me to the political left, as a young man, was a belief that leftists were for "the people." Fortunately, I was also very interested in the history of ideas — and years of research in that field repeatedly brought out the inescapable fact that many leading thinkers on the left had only contempt for "the people."

That has been true from the 18th century to the present moment. Even more surprising, I discovered over the years that leading thinkers on the opposite side of the ideological spectrum had more respect for ordinary people than people on the left who spoke in their name.

Leftists like Rousseau, Condorcet or William Godwin in the 18th century, Karl Marx in the 19th century or Fabian socialists like George Bernard Shaw in England and American Progressives in the 20th century saw the people in a role much like that of sheep, and saw themselves as their shepherds.

Another disturbing pattern turned up that is also with us to the present moment. From the 18th century to today, many leading thinkers on the left have regarded those who disagree with them as being not merely factually wrong but morally repugnant. And again, this pattern is far less often found among those on the opposite side of the ideological spectrum.

The visceral hostility toward Sarah Palin by present day liberals, and the gutter level to which some descend in expressing it, is just one sign of a mindset on the left that goes back more than two centuries.

T.R. Malthus was the target of such hostility in the 18th and early 19th centuries. When replying to his critics, Malthus said, "I cannot doubt the talents of such men as Godwin and Condorcet. I am unwilling to doubt their candor."

But William Godwin's vision of Malthus was very different. He called Malthus "malignant," questioned "the humanity of the man," and said "I profess myself at a loss to conceive of what earth the man was made."

This asymmetry in responses to people with different opinions has been too persistent, for too many years, to be just a matter of individual personality differences.

Although Charles Murray has been a major critic of the welfare state and of the assumptions behind it, he recalled that before writing his landmark book, "Losing Ground," he had been "working for years with people who ran social programs at street level, and knew the overwhelming majority of them to be good people trying hard to help."

Can you think of anyone on the left who has described Charles Murray as "a good person trying hard to help"? He has been repeatedly denounced as virtually the devil incarnate — far more often than anyone has tried seriously to refute his facts.

Such treatment is not reserved solely for Murray. Liberal writer Andrew Hacker spoke more sweepingly when he said, "conservatives don't really care whether black Americans are happy or unhappy."

Even in the midst of an election campaign against the British Labour Party, when Winston Churchill said that there would be dire consequences if his opponents won, he said that this was because "they do not see where their theories are leading them."

But, in an earlier campaign, Churchill's opponent said that he looked upon Churchill "as such a personal force for evil that I would take up the fight against him with a whole heart."

Examples of this asymmetry between those on opposite sides of the ideological divide could be multiplied almost without limit. It is not solely a matter of individual personality differences.

The vision of the left is not just a vision of the world. For many, it is also a vision of themselves — a very flattering vision of people trying to save the planet, rescue the exploited, create "social justice" and otherwise be on the side of the angels. This is an exalting vision that few are ready to give up, or to risk on a roll of the dice, which is what submitting it to the test of factual evidence amounts to. Maybe that is why there are so many fact-free arguments on the left, whether on gun control, minimum wages, or innumerable other issues — and why they react so viscerally to those who challenge their vision.

Does it ever occur to you that because of our life experiences , we may actually know more about a subject than you do?

As a farmer and rancher, we can no longer be just that. We have to be part scientist in order to be able to stay competitive. We have to be part Lawyer just to be able navigate the rules, regulations and laws imposed on us. We have to be part businessman inorder to negotiate our deals on the front end and the back end so we don't get eaten alive. We have to be part mechanic inorder to keep everything running for yet another harvest.
As someone intimately involved in the production of what you eat, does it occur to you that I may just know more about agriculture and animal husbandry than you do? So pardon me if I know more about GMOs than you do, since I have them planted in my fields.

Environment, what do you know about the environment, you read one article or watch one show on Animal Planet and I'm supposed to defer to you as an expert on all things environmental?
I live day in and day out in the Mountains with Forest Service Land on one side of me and BLM land on the other at the base of a national Forest where I can't even see my closest neighbors house from my property. On any given day I have herds of antelope, elk and deer on my property not mention more than a hundred other species. I have to deal with the bobcats, badgers, coyotes, wolves, Mtn lions and bears that attack my stock day in and day out. I have to deal with living next to a poorly managed National forest and the real possibility that should a fire break out it could do serious damage to a large part of my livelihood. Day in and day out I see and deal with the environment.
So because you sort your trash, you're an expert on the environment?

I don't hate you or anyone. I'm just tired of a bunch of people who have no idea of what it takes to get their food from the fields to their table lecturing me about things they know nothing about yet are a part of everyday life for me. I'm tired of being told how and what I should do by a bunch a whining babies who couldn't do for one week what I do day in and day out. I'm tired of bleeding heart morons who have no idea of what life is like outside of the comfort of their living room telling me and others like me they know more about my life and what and how I should live it. In short, I'm tired of having people like you who have no idea of what you're talking about bitching and whining about what the rest of us have to do while you sit in the security of your life with no idea of the reality going on around you you , but you're an expert about everything because you read one article.

Your feelings got hurt because someone knows more than you ?Seriously grow up! There are just some people who know more than you do because they actually are doing what you are just sitting around and bitching about!

It's STILL a silly generalization since I am pretty sure you haven't ever actually spoken to "MOST" conservatives. Sorry, but posting links to forums right here on RJ to bolster your point won't hold much water either. While you're at it, be sure to post the link about THIS conservative (well, admittedly, I'm more moderate) buying a CHEVY VOLT to both save on gas and help save the environment.

Pssssst…okay, so I only lasted a year with that piece of crap and I'm back to a gas guzzling pickup, but who's counting icon_wink.gif

LOL. Boy, you assume a LOT. I was BORN AND RAISED on a farm. We grew every eatable crop you can imagine. We raised cows, pigs, chickens and goats. And not for a hobby either. My dad was a farmer from the day he was born and I was put on a tractor before I could hardly walk. I had to bale and haul hay my whole life even though I was deathly allergic to the stuff. But I never heard anyone in my family call themselves a "scientist" or a "lawyer" just because they had to know certain things to keep them afloat. The reason I have such strong opinions about the environment and animals, is not because I'm some "bleeding heart Liberal" that you label me as.....but because I KNOW what people like you are like because I was brought up right smack in the middle of them. I was surrounded by ignorant rednecks who thought they knew everything, when in fact they didn't know shit. And I'm quite familiar with your masculinity issues too. You associate how much of a man you are with how much you can dominate animals and other humans. I suppose the bull in your profile pic was being harassed to death for "conservation" too, right?

Maybe mommy was a methhead. browse.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fa.rjstatic.com

Hey Pollyturd: you're not fit to wash my underwear....frankly, I doubt you wash your own. It would explain your shitty outlook on life. browse.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fa.rjstatic.com

    Amazing, isn't it? browse.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fa.rjstatic.com

Oh Kolonel KooKoo, there you go again. Let's just take up your point about this being a "GAY HEALTH & FITNESS SITE" as you write.

What are YOU doing on a GAY HEALTH & FITNESS SITE when you:

    a) have been overweight for years

    b) do NOTHING to attempt to remedy your overweight condition

    c) are in rapidly failing physical health (as YOU yourself document on here)

    You use this site to:

    a) boast of how "super gay" you are (as YOU yourself have documented here, i.e. "we only go to gay owned establishments")

    b) attack anyone who is not a "progressive" / liberal / Democrat

    c) brag about your supposed "social status" as a "gay A+ lister" and "gay mover and shaker" (all YOUR OWN terms you have used to describe yourself)

    d) lie about your military rank (yes, there are published reports out there about what the final rank was that you attained, and it WAS NOT Colonel)

And, coward that you are, you place people like me on Ignore so that you can continue to attack me and not be bothered to see my replies to your attacks. Behavior not at all becoming of a "Colonel."

Too funny. The fat man questioning why someone else is on a health and fitness website. LOL

Scruffypup saidTry talking to most Conservatives about the environment and they brag about how much gas their gas guzzling car uses.

One looks silly and totally ignorant to paint all conservatives with the same broad brush. It would be no less ignorant to paint all left-leaning people the same way. Generalizing is just plain lazy and misinformed.

You're right. My OP has been edited.

The premise of the thread is so ridiculous it's amusing. I label myself as a fiscal conservative meaning I prefer limited government, limits on government spending, etc. I think Obamacare will soon turn out to be a disaster with the real intent not improving healthcare but redistributing wealth. I favor the Government helping those who really cannot afford health insurance. I label myself as a social moderate not wanting the Government to interfere in people's lives. I oppose restricting who can marry. My daily driver is also a hybrid.

I occasionally have discussions with those who label themselves as liberal and mostly the discussions are good. Those folks are very different from the ones, for example. who have posted in this thread. I wonder about the psychology of people who not only think in very simple terms but also seem quite angry. Are some government workers who feel people who want limited government are out to get them and take it personally? Are some people who feel they have been wronged by someone else who they label as a conservative, and are now very angry with all conservatives? It would be fascinating to read a psychological evaluation of some of these people.

Most of the hatred I see on the web (not necessarily here) is directed at "libtards" from Tea Party folk. The hatred is visceral and intense. I don't think any psychological evaluations are required, though---the right-wing pathology is pretty well documented already.

I see many labeled as part of the tea party as reasonably moderate with an emphasis on wanting limited government, limited spending, and limited taxes. The problem with the tea party is some "extremists" got involved and basically by being vocal made the mainstream think the more extreme positions were representative of all. Much of the media helped in this. I think the extremists on the left and the extremists on the right have much in common psychologically. My comment about some of the participants of this thread remains.

That's an opinion piece talking about supposed popularity, an old left wing trick to discourage one type and shore up another's beliefs. My dog could've written something more meaningful.

I love when the left accuses the right of what the left does. And to declare the tea party dead ( especially when it's not an official party in the least )and run with it as established fact is another trick and a premature conclusion.

And intellectuals, who are in both parties, can still make mistakes. The very word "intellectual" does not mean "infallible".
