I heard on the news today that the midwest, mainly Missouri, has the cheapest gas in the country.
It finally feels good to put $10.00 of gas in my truck and have it go all the way past 1/2 a tank.
    Anyway, just curious.

Mc is just jealous because you can't put gas in a tricycle. It's only 1.49 here in NNJ and we have a much better quality of life up here. I didn't care when it was close to 4. If you don't like it don't drive or write your congressman.

Getting 70 mpg on my Vespa, gas prices aren't a big hardship. But when I first drove in the mid-1960's my Karmann Ghia (who can claim they know what THAT gay car was?) could be filled from empty for under $3.00.

Frankly, I think we should just go and take the Middle Eastern oil fields, and stop being jerked around by a bunch of rabid anti-Western Muslims. They want to destroy us, so let's do them the same favor.

There are still a couple of Karmann Ghia's around the neighborhood. They only come out on sunny days.
The best price I've seen this month was 1.67 in the city. It's around 1.79 out here.

BTW: I used to get around for a week on my Honda twin with just the loose change in my pocket.

I'm going to assume that you made this comment in jest. You do realize that we are quagmired (sp) in that f*%cking mess in Iraq because of attitudes like that. We don't own the world any more. And we never really did.

I spent $ 23 this morning to fill up the Jetta for the next two weeks @ 1.479/gallon in Atlanta. That's a far cry from the $ 74 after the hurricane last fall. Like Red Vespa, I remember filling up my Super Beetle for $ 3.00 and getting 300 miles. Back in those days, it made a 4,000 mile cross country drive for $ 40 in gas and tolls.

I didnt start driving until 2000 so I only remember when gas was as low as .89 cents a gallon a skant 8 years ago. Now with it being under 3 dollars (and at some places even under 2 dollars) in NYC (not including Manhattan) and Northern NJ Being even cheaper and where I choose to fill up.

It's great - almost like someone is trying to get people to buy SUVs AGAIN...hmmmmm.....

I would rather have my gas cost more and have the additives in it so that it burns cleaner.

I'm also hoping that the State of California taxes gasoline more. It is too cheap and is putting too many people on the road. And the State needs the money.

I wrote the governor of california and asked him to consider increasing gas taxes to help fix the budget.

Not entirely in jest. I would vaporize them, then take over their oil fields. Enough of this pussy-footing around. They have declared war against us, I think they should learn what that means.

    Cue Alanis Morrissette's song, Ironic:

Although I have been enjoying lowered prices for the last 2 months, I won't be enjoying them for several weeks now with a broken leg that inhibits my ability to drive.

Red: Man, that brings back memories... I learned to drive in a Karmann Ghia. What a sweet car.
