Abdominal Workout Issues!

    So I just recently started working out on the 12 week strength foundation program yesterday and I don't really like the regular floor crunches or the superman kicks. I dont feel like the are extremely effective and I would like to incorporate a different style of ab workouts into my routine, but also keep it feasible. I haven't actually worked out much until I started this program and I'm finding it extremely difficult to do the abdominal portions. I don't know if its because I'm sore from doing all of the other workouts or if its because I'm slightly on the chunkier side as of yet but I have to figure something out because I can't just not work on my abs. As far as what I'm trying to achieve those are pretty damn important. Any suggestions for a newbie guys. i-want-six-pack-abs-v20-5-b-512x250.jpg

    Adapt the exercises until you get more comfortable doing them. There are TONS of abdominal exercises, and planks are pretty effective. Abs are made in the gym, but they are made visible in the kitchen. You could have a most shredded 6 pack imaginable, but unless you have a very low body fat percentage, it will be impossible to see them. Good luck!

    Yes there are a lot of variations and different exercises that you can substitute. But if the basic issue is not being able to do the number of reps that it calls for - just keep doing as many as you can do. It will gradually increase. Or try breaking them up into shorter sets - but still try to do all of them.
