So at the moment I currently workout at Zap 24 hour fitness and its like a 20 to 30min drive from my house (depending on the traffic lights).its a sorta starting out so they dont have heaps of locations but its no contract though which is a plus

But I was sorta planning on joining Anytime fitness ,since I always drive past one on my way to zap and they have alot of convenient locations but I was also sorta considering on joining a health club gym as well ,cause of the body pump ,zumba classes etc ,guess to try something different for 2014 but the down side of health clubs is their closing times, like classes finish at 8pm and it closes at 10pm and not open on public holiday.

So is it best just sticking to 24hour gyms ?(even though they might not have the same equipment as health clubs )

Do you work out at health club or gym ?
what are some Positives and negatives ?

For me convenience is everything. The gym that's 4 minutes away closes at 10pm, the one that's 20 minutes away at midnight. No 24 hour gyms in my area. My choice is the gym that's 4 minutes away because I find myself with no excuses not to go. Re classes factor in how often you'd go and what type are they'd be, and would you be better off also joining a specialty yoga, Crossfit, etc. gym? As for me, classes are immaterial, I don't like them, too noisy and sweaty. I prefer training alone (except for yoga, a "quiet" class).

I go to 24 Hour Fitness. I don't take any of the classes. I like the convenience/option of going to multiple locations. Pretty handy when I travel. Plus, they're open 24 hours. Sometimes I get home late and I end up at the gym past 10pm. Most other gyms are closed by that time. Well, except for Anytime, I believe.

My health club(FFC)in Chicago is really good, my membership allows me to use any of the clubs in the city(of which there are about 6) The one closest to my apartment is open MON-FRI from 500am-1030p and weekends from 7a-8p. I take 3 spin classes a week and then after go to the pool and do a swimming workout. I like that the classes are included in the membership fee.
