No surprise to me really, but got retrenched this week.

Been managing a hotel for the past year, financials doing well under my watch. Yet still, got the arse.

Owners have decided to run the place themselves, thus cutting out a salaried position - mine. I'm devastated. I have put a ton of blood, sweat and tears into this place, turning it around from a failing business into something that was so very close to turning a profit.

It's not unusual in my profession for a job to have a "use-by-date", there is a very high turnover in hospitality. But, I am still shattered that I have been "let go". I have a very strong feeling that the place is close to closing its doors anyway, but that doesn't mean much to me today.

    Hugs from RJ friends, anyone?

Hugs bud. Lost my job a few months back. It stinks, but does give you more time to look at boys here ... hmm, maybe that's not a good thing.
