Hi so i have been banned from a gay forum for discussing the issue of promiscuity among some Gay Men

It sucks just for innocently creating a thread to provoke and stimulate discussion among other Gay men about the issue

I just checked out FitLads and joined it. Still exploring it, but the Admins seem to have a Brit sense of humor I like. Some interesting features, too, though much remains initially confusing to me, always interesting to see how other social sites operate.

I don't know the facts of your banning. These things are often arbitrary. Is your goal here to resume your discussion of gay promiscuity? We discuss it often, with many different viewpoints being expressed, and from the serious to the frivolous, friendly to hostile.

Well I sure hope so, I could always use a sluttier version of anything, I'm exploring it now. But it does seem to have some interesting features, aside from those intended for hookups.

    @art

Well not just that but discuss other things

At least on here members do not get silenced for daring to speak about gay related issues

Just politely hushed, so you don't wake us oldies.

Well, I'm reading some very explicit gay-related issues there. I love how gay men around the world are so adorably randy, no matter their country. Ah, the universality of being gay!

So I'm guessing your conflict wasn't with the gay issues, but with your presentation of them. But as I said earlier, these decisions are often arbitrary, and not always consistent or fair.

Here in the US it's the site owners who make the game and set the rules, and I presume it's the same in the UK. The rest of us are just their guests, and they can withdraw the invitation any time they like, for any reason. Even if you pay for a membership upgrade, as RealJock once offered, it's still done under their termination terms to which you must agree.

woodsmen saidI think the OP is promoting fitlad.

The thought had crossed my mind. And I did check it out and did join for free. But I join many gay social sites, dropping some after a while, keeping others. I'll do the same with Fitlads.

Being based in Scotland with a largely UK & Continental membership I can't envision myself becoming very active there. They do have a multi-lingual feature, which is nice, but nothing for US English. So right away there's a language barrier problem, since I don't speak Brit, and my French & German get weaker by the year.

One of the special pleasures of US sites like RJ is being able to meet members in person, something I likely won't experience with an offshore site. And also having first-hand knowledge of local places, activities, travel, events, etc, that we can discuss and share info about.

I can see Fitlads being one of those "back of the shelf" resources that I infrequently draw upon when needed.

EternalOp? Whatever happened to him? His eloquent and thoughtful questions about the meaning of life and the universe were so organic.

No doubt. As I said, I don't speak Brit, and you don't speak US. I'm blocking you so we don't have this awkwardness again. Do the same.

Worked for me, I googled it, went onto the forums there and demanded to know more about all these fit lads and why they are always engaging in the sex.

    I don't understand that problem.

Although there are differences between British and American English, it is still English and the differences are not so great that communication is impaired. For 10 years I lived in a country where British English was spoken and I had no problems with it. In British English, you just drop a few syllables, put the accent on a different syllable, put two dots over the a's, say "chap" or "bloke" instead of "guy," and call electricians sparkies. No problem.

    #1 "Lad" = Young Boy
#2 The two photos on the home page feature guys who look to be 18 or 19 years old.
#3 My guess is it would be a very ageist site, and I see my fill of that here.
