My vote is bad television all around for Here Television's The Lair, Season 2. Your thoughts?

I just watched episode 8 of The Lair and wondering if I can continue to watch. It was so bad words can't describe my frustration. However, I will try.

Whoever thought that a killer plant would be a good storyline should be fired immediately. This may go down in history as one of the worst stories in The Lair history. Also, the actors in support of that storyline have got to go - Chris Crawford and Johnny Hazzard. I just don't buy the lines, emotions or feel any sense of connection. I would compare it to someone holding up cue cards in front of me and reading them in a complete monotone state.

Also, the former love interest of David Moretti- the gentleman with the goatee and longer hair should get the pink slip also. The acting is just terrible.

I know they are filming season 3 now and I'm hoping for a cast shake up because this season is ready to "Jump the Shark" and go down in history as the worst in GLBTQ television ever. All I can say is OUCH!

I agree that this season is not quite as good as the last one...I actually think that Dante's Cove is much better, even though the last season of that one sucked too...

On the other hand though, while I do agree that the acting is shotty...what do you expect from folks in the industry where the acting isn't as important as looks or dick size...

That guy with the goatee does need to go, though.

After Dante's Cove I wanted to blow my fucking brains out. It's hard to imagine that there is something worse that!

I guess Colton should have stuck to singing or movies huh?

I never thought that there would be another show ( The Lair ) that was so bad that it could eclipse the hot mess that is Dante's Cove. Boy was I wrong !

Both shows need to give it up. Bad writing...bad acting...just....BAD !
I've seen better acting in a High School production of Oaklahoma.

    Please make it STOP !!

I'm pretty sure this is Here! TV's 10-Step Development Strategy:

    1) The network president gives a stack of Instinct Magazine to his teenage goth daughter.
    2) The teenage goth daughter reads the magazines.
    3) She searches her hard drive for old Charmed fanfic.
    4) She replaces all the feminine pronouns with he/him/his.
    5) She hands the new document to her father, the network president.
    6) He loves it! (Or doesn't even read it because he knows that as long as it has gay sex in it, it will sell millions of DVD sets)
    7) He gathers the production crew responsible for The Crow TV series.
8 ) He gives them the budget of an episode of Power Rangers, a stack of Sean Cody DVDs, and a mandate to cast only boys from those videos.
    9) He collects the profit from the millions of DVD sets sold because gay men will buy anything as long as it has gay sex in it.
    10) Repeat, infinitely.

I rented Dante's Cove Season one back in the day and it was horrible!
I can't even believe they made other seasons OR another show for that matter.

The only non-mainstream gay show I have enjoyed is The Big Gay Sketch Show on Logo!

They are a great actors and they perform their asses off.
    Check it out.

This scene features Dylan Vox (or Falcon Studio's Brad Benton)

    Was Season 1 better?

It was like having a glass of spoiled milk in front of you and waiting for it to 'get better'.

Oh my god! That was so amazing!

    Terrible acting? Check
    Terrible writing? Check
    Terrible everything possible ever? Check!!!

It was like porn without any sex!

That's a show!? That's a real show on TV!?!? Wow. I expected it to be bad, but not that bad. That's gloriously horrendous!

Well my biggest disappointment was finding out that they are now filming The Lair 3 before Dante's Cove 4. At least Dante's Cove has some stronger actresses in Thea Gill (Queer As Folk) and Tracy Scoggings (Dynasty: The Colbys).

I think Colton should really just not sing... or act. icon_confused.gif He has a good voice, but the songs are really not... well... star quality.

Wasn't there a movie where the stars were also real-life pornstars? I think they were Chi Chi Larue's.

Black Leather Jacket or something... asides from the soft porn... well nothing. Just the porn. icon_razz.gif

Colton Ford did a movie with his former boyfriend, Blake Harper. They both worked for Chi Chi LaRue. The movie was called Naked Fame. I guess his new man is in the Tug of War music video.

All I can say is that what do you expect when a tv series falls back on fans of pornstars to get ratings. After all, that old joke, "how do you know if you get addicted to porn? when you get hooked by the plot!" is indicative that porn and actors, should not be in the same sentence.

Excuse the midwest-use of the word but...

That was the GAYEST thing I've ever seen. Like, ever. I damn near fell out of my chair when it came to the portion where he splits into 5 different versions of himself. And where in the hell did that sexy lady come from? It was all Colton Ford and his BF feeling each other up, then *bang*, a random shot of some sexy lady. "Oh hey, just being all sexy with my boyfriend -- Oh look, there's a sexy lady lounging on the hood of this car! I'm gonna almost make out with her, but pull back right before our lips touch! Raw sexy!" Mmm mmm, hmm hmm indeed.

Between this Colton Ford music video, that clip from The Lair, and what I've seen of Dante's Cove, I'm now certain that gay consumers will consume LITERALLY ANYTHING that features gays. Regardless of quality. Long as there's some gay luvin' in it.

Queer as Folk may not be my cup of tea, or anything other than a gay The Young & The Restless, but damn -- it looks like fucking Shakespeare compared to the dregs of culture that are Colton Ford, The Lair, and Dante's Cove.

That said... Is The Lair on DVD? Something that bad needs to be in my collection, right between Ghost Rider and The Swinging Cheerleaders. ;)

Is The Lair finally coming to an end?

David Moretti films his last scene for the series.

God, I wish he could get that camera still.
