The glamour and luxury of air travel in the 1930's on Imperial Airways.

Imagine stops in your favorite places like:
    -The Kingdom of Egypt
    -The Kingdom of Iraq
    -The Sheikhdom of Kuwait
    -The British Raj
    -British Burma
    -The Straits Settlements

Notice the black doll being held by the woman; don't you just love the casual, relaxed racism of the 1930's? I kid, I kid!
I believe that is a Golliwogg or Little Black Sambo doll but I could be wrong.

In the mid 1980s someone travelled that route (& on to Australia) & wrote a book, Beyond the Blue Horizon, about his trip. Not all the airfields were still there but he landed as close as possible.
I think the ticket was recognised as a world record as the longest plane ticket.
