I got my mom a digital picture frame with a 'touchscreen' edge and it plays audio too.. after dad died in September she made a slideshow of pictures of him with music on her laptop and I thought she might like to have it somewhere other than on the computer.

Mom and Dad are so broke right now, rather than fly home for Christmas I sent them much of the price of a ticket to help pay the bills.

Mine has not been good for the past 60 odd years, so she gets a stocking full of coal.

A little George Foreman grill and an all burgers cook book ( she just loves hamburgers),I'd love to give her more but unfortunately it's gonna have to be a little leaner on the spending this year. icon_sad.gif

Columbo the First Season on dvd. When I was a kid, she always watched that mystery show on NBC (I think) that had Columbo, McMillan and Wife, and McCloud.

My mom passed away in 1991, so this year I am getting her this. I guess, seen the circumstances, I will have to make use of it myself. However, I promise that I will think of my mother when I use it. Love ya mom.

My Mom is in her early 70's now - so she likes some of the older perfumes - I'm giving her Bal A Versailles this year.

What to buy the mom who has everything she already wants? I love my mom more than life (yes, total momma's boy here too) but she's impossible to buy for cuz she absolutely "hates the kids spending any money on stuff she doesn't need or want". So, I got her a beautiful flower arrangement that she loves to use as a holiday centerpiece on the dining room table for their annual Christmas party and as per tradition I sent her favorite rice pudding from this great place in New York City called "Rice to Riches" -- they ship overnight in this really cool container and it arrives in dry ice at the door cold and creamy and delicious. It's a great gift and the flavors are so fun. This year I opted for "Coconut Coma" and "The Secret Life of Pumpkin".

Drugs, so I can keep that evil mother of my sedated and out of my mind. icon_twisted.gif

But seriously, here's how it broke down.

Me: Mom, I'm going to set up a nice evening for you a Dad - dinner, theatre in the City.

    Mom: Oh no, it's ok.

    Me: No mom, I insist.

Mom: No, your Dad and I will be fine.

    Silence.

Me: Mom, you and Dad are going out for dinner & theatre and going to have a fucking nice evening.

    Mom: Ok ok!!

I'm so sweet to my mother...

Front row tickets to see Neil Diamond in concert. icon_razz.gif
Had to give them to her early so she did not buy them on her own.
Concert was last weekend. She said she had a blast and Neil was amazing and still has it going on!

I knitted my mother a scarf out of corriedale yarn I spun myself. My first handspun yarn, in the sort of wool we used to raise sheep with.

    Name?

Well, I guess technically it's "Gnomespun Yarn" since that's my business name.

She wanted new pots and pans, so that's what she got.

I made her swear she wouldn't use her metal utensils on the teflon pans, seeing as that's how she's ruined the last two sets she's had.

My mom buys everything she wants to its impossible to get her anything. So I usually buy her something to add to one of her many collections like a Disney globe or some type of antique.
