How much do you drink while on a training/eating plan?

I managed no booze for 12 weeks in the summer, but since restarting my training diet for New Year I have lapsed a bit already - I had 1 and a half pints when my best friend suddenly turned up (he lives 3 hours away).

If you are on a strict diet, how hard do you try to avoid alcohol?

It's a substantial number of empty calories. I gave up all drinking a year or so ago, which was only beer; anything else and I'm shit-faced. And I dearly miss having a beer with supper.

I just tried eating clean and going without booze since New Year's eve. I managed no drinks for 25 days, until out for dinner one Saturday night, and had 2 pints. No drinks again until today when I had one beer and one Bloody Mary. Trying my best to avoid the unnecessary calories!

I gave up alcohol years ago. Have never looked or felt better.

Alcohol is entirely counter productive to my goals, so I have no problem avoiding it. I've drank only once in the last year. It's all about setting your priorities.
