I'm curious to know if anyone met their husband on Grindr or is Grindr just for quickies/hookups?

    TIA

It's mainly for people to use tricky camera angles that attempt to make their photos look way better (and less fat) than they actually are.

This. Plus, sex addicts make the worst long term, monogamous lovers, so it's really doubtful any of the injured and immature losers who use Grindr are able to hold a job, much less a relationship.

If you are thinking of this, then someone else is on Grindr thinking the same thing. It is possible that you find someone awesome, but it is also possible that you find someone who's only concern is sex. I'm on it, but haven't had too much success, that being said I'm still trying.

I have only met one couple who met through grindr and were able to make it work. Everyone else I've talked to or known it's just nothing but one bad gay country song after another. In my experience I have met some of the best people in my life, when I first came out I was terrified to go to gay bars didn't know how to effectively talk or communicate with other gays. It helped me connect with my best friends and it certainly helps in a new city (which is my current situation) however dating for me on that hasn't worked but that's for me. It could be possible and sure it's been done .

Grindr is nothing but trouble....but I don't think it's any worse than any other gay site, save maybe ones like this (???).

Well, I guess I'm looking in the wrong places. People on Grindr are obsessed with asking for pictures, sending xrated pics and anonymous sex and I'm not into that. Is it true once the Grindr app is installed on a smartphone it is hard to get rid of it?

The principle of my old HS hit me up on Grndr the other day. He must of not recognized me. He didn't have a profile photo but he sent me a selfie... I was screaming. His profile read "Dominant top daddy who punishes"

I regularly delete and re-install my Grindr and seems to work fine.

Grindr could and would be better if they allowed more than 1 pic, and actually made people write stuff in their headlines. All the fucking stupid ass 1 word sentences and catch phrases people use on there is just dumb.

There is still faith, if you're determined and sincere enough. I've never hooked up and just used grindr for eyecandy purpose, while at the same time hoping for my chance to meet my prince charming.
Then one day a guy hit me up, he had nothing on his profile, I only had description but no profile picture. It's been almost a year since we first talked and we have maintained a monogamous relationship ever since.
And he's totally out of my league. Perhaps I'm lucky, but they say good things happen to good people, maybe it's not my look attracted him but my personality and what I wrote on my profile.
That's my story to prove that Grindr is still sane to a certain level

The majority are interested in sleazy hookups mostly, but you can find some decent guys on Grindr. I've been on dates with two guys from there, and no mention of going back to anyone's place for sex.

Yeah me too. I'm not easily impressed with penis pictures, there is always more to penis size. I have known guys with beautiful penises but they had very ugly attitudes towards people so to me they were just horrible and ugly.

Someone told me that if you deleted the Grindr app and sell that phone and the next person installs the same app on that phone your original grindr will get reinstalled.

Grindr was based on the phone ID, now it has an account to sign into.

Though grindr is mostly a hookup app, it's still what you make of it. When I travel internationally, it's the common app. A lot of places use that since they don't have large (or any) gay areas. I've meet some really genuine guys from "sleezy" apps and sites (grindr, adultfriendfinder, adam4adam). Sure there's plenty of assholes and aimless dudes who'll waste your time to weed through. The same is for OKCupid.

An app is what you make of it and how you approach others. If you're a nice guy looking for something meaningful, there are others out there just like you.

You were lucky. I had to deal with penis pictures and shallow/sex talk.
