The Mormon's in this film, view a natural body process as something "bad" and "evil".

I had some friends who were LDS (Mormon) back in my undergrad years. When we were around 17 - 18, their father one day admonished us with this little line: "Thou shalt not cast thy seed upon the ground".

Another time, when my buddy's mother presented him with something she'd discovered under his bed: A hard, stiff (like a dry chamois) old pair of boxers. She let him know she suspected he had been "abusing" himself. His remark: "Would you rather have me out doing the real thing?" Her reply, "Well, NO". End of her snooping under his bed.

    To ikilledcaptainplanet:

At least you're thinking about it. Most others are just happy to jump on the anti-religious bandwagon in order to fit in.

Yeah, that's why people think this is hysterical and ludicrous. Because they're afraid they won't fit in. icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm frankly amazed that we haven't been graced with more Mormon serial killers -- I think that there have been three, though Ted Bundy was technically an adult convert -- given their uncanny prowess for morbidly pathologizing developing sexuality.

Well then, my thinking friend, do you care to comment on whether the video was about porn addiction or masturbation in general, as the OP of this thread and the other one (Mettaicon_cool.gif has projected with their headline?

Unclear, which was one of its many problems. Anyway, "porn addition" isn't a real thing, unless you take the currently popular view that anything you do too much of is an "addiction." Even if it were a real thing, I also have the strong suspicion that the makers of the video would equate any porn usage as "porn addiction."

It's funny---or maybe it isn't---but every time Blakes7 posts anything my opinion of him gets lower.
And I didn't think there was anything below absolute zero.

Maybe, but I'd say porn addiction does exist, if maybe for a lack of a better description.

actually, in recent years, the anti-masturbation movement has grown into something that has become a growing trend on its own without religion. apparently, there's a growing number of teens and young adults that actually believe that masturbation is the cause to their problems such as being socially awkward to not having enough energy throughout the day to flunking school.

    it's really stupid.

They used to blame it on weed and peer pressure. Now they blame it on porn and isolation.

The goal is not to fight religion, but masturbation has nearly all positive benefits and it's ridiculous to act as if it's a sin in my opinion.

I agree with you. But the point is the video wasn't anti masturbation, it was anti porn.

yeah all I see is a reference to porn. Being raised mormon I didn't masturbate for a year in my teens, how awful is that ! lol and not healthy!!

I believe sex and masturbation are healthy and normal. icon_smile.gif
