When my first partner proposed to me. We were having a lovely dinner at his place that he had prepared, itself already romantic, preceded by cocktails with background music playing, later candles and wine on the table.

He excused himself, I assumed for the bathroom, and I continued with my meal. Suddenly he rushed backed and went down to his knee in front of me at the table, presenting an open ring box in his hands.

Then he proposed to me, and I immediately accepted. We spent the rest of the meal gushing over why we loved each other so much. And before the evening was over (which I spent there) we already began to discuss our future living arrangements, since we'd been having an LDR for months, and one of us was gonna have to make a major move in order to live together.

It was not only romantic for me, but thrilling to receive a classic marriage proposal (although marriage in name only in that State), and to know I would have this man in my life permanently. And a big responsibility for me, too. icon_biggrin.gif

My husband took us to France about 4 years ago, Stayed in this cool little boutique hotel. We were getting ready to go out for dinner and when I got out of the shower there was a beautiful bottle of champs and two little baby blue boxes with a little white bow. I instantly said, "What's that" He opened one box and got one one knee and said four words.

I was shocked and totally surprised, we were legally married this past July in Santa Barbara.

We also now have a 9 month little boy that we adopted from birth.

after telling my current boyfriend that he was my first he made sure he really took care of me when I did it for the first time with him, after we were done he told me to wait there in bed and so he went outside on the porch in his boxers and snipped me off a rose from the front yard.

Because I am a spontaneous and romantic lover, almost every day is a chance to be a good partner. I do not do anything for Valentines Day because that's just a commercial event for losers who have no sense of romance, just an obligation to waste money on flowers, candy and dinner.

A guy I dated 1,000 years ago. We were at dinner and I mentioned that My father used to take Me to the boardwalk to ride the bumper cars and how much fun I thought it was.

That Friday He hired a private plane to fly Us to Atlantic City and We rode the bumper cars on the boardwalk.

At the time it seemed utterly frivolous and completely romantic that He remembered a trite comment I made over dinner let alone did something about it.

Im not really good at it. I met a guy on my last vacation. At one point he grabbed one of my shirts. When were leaving I told him that still had it but I wanted to keep it. On a day where he had to get to the bottom of the shirt drawer and saw that shirt or put it on he might think of me.

My first trip with my (now) partner. We'd been dating for about four months and decided to take a Thanksgiving trip somewhere. I let him pick. Living if Florida and he from Arizona, I expected he's choose NY or London or Paris. Instead, he picked Toronto. I thought "Toronto?" But Toronto we went, stayed in a wonderful little boutique hotel, the Soho Metropolitan, and we were lovers for five days. Even including Niagara Falls. It was the first time either of us had allowed ourselves to be lovers in public, holding hands, feeding each other over dinner, kissing in the elevator. It was magical.

I went on a date with a guy and he mentioned that he really liked one of the plates he was eating off of at dinner... so when i got up to use the restroom, i asked the manager to sell me that same plate(a washed one). I gave it to my date that same night before i said bye to him and he almost cried

Some cool stories here, guys. I don't have many on the receiving side, but I did "12 days of Christmas" for my ex a couple years ago. One gift for each day leading up to Christmas, gradually getting better. It culminated with a donation to his deceased father's cancer organization (his favorite gift) and finally a trip to an upstate NY cabin. He ate it up like candy! JK but he loved icon_smile.gif

OP beat me to creating this thread. Cute sweet stories I read so far. Here's mine.

. My ex bf took me to Vegas first class in 2009 and we had an Italian dinner for my birthday at Lavo/The Palazzo. At the end of dinner, the waitress took out a wonderful cute Birthday Souflee cake with candles. We were in front of Treasure Island watching the Pirate show. I thought that was romantic.

. We were in Rome in 2010 visiting the Italian capital for about 7 days. We took this sight-seeing trip at the Roman's coliseum, while we were taking some photos. I stuck in a kiss to him.

. After the Rome's trip, we flew to London for about 5 days. as a thank you to him, I signed us both up for one of those red bus tour around London. We ended up taking a boat ride on the Thames river for about 2 hours and ended up in one of those (Rock and Roll/Beatles) historical music tour. We ended up by the Notting Hill area and we ended the day at a Trendy Japanese restaurant and had some Spanish/Tapas dessert.

My ex and I going on a long country hike through a valley. We came to this vantage point on the side of a hill and he put his arms round me from behind. It was a pretty magical time.

Probably the most romantic encounter for me was when my s.o. and I were actually being intimate (yes, that) for the very first time. As we moved together, he kept his gaze going - right into my eyes without looking away - for the longest time. It was as if his eyes were opening his soul to me. Almost like he was saying, "Here is my heart - - it is all yours."

i dated this guy who was friends with the owner of one of the finest french restaurants/resort in town. We got to spend 3 glorious days in 1 of 3 private suites, overlooking the bay. The bathtub was basically a small pool. The food was fantastic as was the sex. Too bad he turned out to be such an ass…. lol.
