Ok so I just came out and have 3 questions regarding the gay community. They might be odd, but I want real answers please!

1)When you are with your boyfriend in public, did you use public restrooms at the same time like urinals and stalls? (How does that work? The more specific the better, i'm so curious.)
    2) When you go on a date what determines who pays? Split the check?
    3) Where do you find gays in your community to date/be friends with? (I live in south Texas and gays are invisible, I can't find even a gay friend.)

Thanks to all who answer my questions. I'm so confused and have never dated a guy yet.icon_redface.gif

Awe, someone give this poor guy a hug hahaa. Damn.
    1. We're not women, we don't take a piss at the same time. Unless you mean to make out ;)
    2. Just depends, usually split the check unless the other one said they are treating...Same with heterosexual couples man.
    3. It's hard man. Grocery stores, gay aps and webesites, gyms...antique stores? I dunno. Grindr, scruff, hornet, manhunt, etc etc. It's a tough world out there, but it does get better ;)

    1) No, you use the bathroom like you would if you were alone.
    2) It really depends, there's no set answer for this, but going Dutch is a common thing to do.
    3) Look online for local gay activity groups or organizations.

You just joined today, you have no profile, but you really need answers about bathroom behavior on a date even though you don't know any gay people.

    1) Stalls are always for 1 adult only, unless you're a legal caregiver. In some places 2 in a stall may even be illegal and get you arrested. If there's a line of urinals stand next to your BF or date, like you would next to any man who happens to be in there at the same time, and have a nice chat while you're pissing together. Why wouldn't you? All men do.

    2) I always split the check with my BF or date. Unless one of us said he was treating for some specific reason, like maybe to mark some special event or something. But NEVER go without enough money to cover at least your own expected costs, and never assume you're being treated. Always offer to pay your share of the meal, and tickets, and all other expenses.

    3) Your profile says you're 18. You may have to be patient until you're 21 to really start meeting guys. Many guys under 21 will not be publicly out yet, and not a lot of places you can meet. Do NOT even CONSIDER messing around with underage guys. It's illegal and you'll end up in jail, because you're now considered a responsible & liable adult.

Here's a link you might want to explore for ideas on meeting guys, geared for younger LGBT:

    http://community.pflag.org/Page.aspx?pid=194&srcid=-2

If and when you attend college you may find an LGBT student group on campus. Though that may reveal your orientation to the entire campus. If you can now choose your own church you might look for one that's gay friendly in your area. One that was created specifically for LGBT is the Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC). You can see if there are any near you:

Hmmm, all of our gay communities will need to make a North America wide conference call, and then come to a consensus before they reply as The Gay Community. icon_wink.gif

    Meanwhile.

1 whoever is taller must go first. The other must wait 45 minutes after the taller one returns and change his shirt before going. (srsly, no different than straights)

2 whoever lays on the biggest guilt trip gets the other one to pay. Remember not to use the story that your Mom died more than 3 times. (silly question, really.)

3 Aha! a serious question. Go to a town that has a lot of gays in it. Join some gay sports groups if you like sports.

This struck me, too. But I answered seriously anyway. In the chance this is legit, plus it doesn't hurt to have good information put out there for others, as well. Even a troll can be an unwitting vehicle for good works. icon_wink.gif

hmmm... not looking good. The most charitable explanation is that, being new to this site, he wants to make sure his questions are seen. And they ARE in 2 different forums, the other one is the more appropriate Dating and Relationships.

    1. Ask your man.

    2. Your man will take care of the bill.

You know, years before I dated my first man, I remember wandering the streets asking total strangers about bathroom etiquette... in detail, no less... so who am I to judge?

What happened to the other desperate thread "needs advice from older and wiser man" that changed the subject line every half an hour?
    (edit)
Oh - found it - the subject line changed again.

Omg im not a troll!!!! I have been reading these threads forever, and I just made an account and didn't have time to take a nice pic and stuff. Give me time- also, that other thread I didn't know went up because they said my profile pic had to be reviewed.

    Let's face it.
Saying "the more specific the better" about gay bathroom behavior when you don't even know any gay people makes you look like a troll with a fetish.
(Especially since you've gotten your answers and you're still asking people to respond.)
Explaining why you need this information so urgently would clear everything up. icon_wink.gif

Because everyone has a different answer? I joined for answers and to talk, NOT be put in the hot seat and questioned. Everyone on here is rude and calls me a troll? Just be a good person, answer a young newly out member's question, and move on with your life.icon_confused.gif
