So I have gone through some revelations regarding my sexual encounters with new men I meet. I recently discovered one of my ex boyfriends has contracted not only HIV but HPV from unprotected sex with a hook up. Since that discovery I've made the decision to practice total safe sex with all future partners. I've had some blowback from men in bed when I requested them to wear a condom for oral sex. I've heard everything from there's no feeling, "you can't catch anything from oral sex", and men claiming that I suspect they have an std, which couldn't be any more false. I truly believe there's an apparent stigma to sexual protection with gay men. The slightest suggestion of using protection seems to be taken by most as insult and distrust. Frankly, I could care less though, this is my body and my health. I don't understand the negative criticism behind using protection. Any thoughts guys?
