Another good example of why I'm generally opposed to the death penalty

There's an old move, I think the title is The Thin Blue Line, which a documentary about how a guy was put in prison for killing. The DA's office suppressed evidence that could have gotten him off because the DA was up for reelection that year and wanted to be seen as strong on crime. Several years after he'd been in prison the real killer confessed.

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidThere was no mention of these two being on death row. But I see your point.

I think the other crime that should be addressed is the fact that these two men were physically threatened and intimidated to confess to crimes they didn't commit. Those policemen should do time foe that.

True, I don't think they were, but the same applies to folks falsely accused and convicted of any serious crime.

These guys lost 20+ years of their lives over this.

venue35 saidWhen a convict is sentenced to death for murder by lethal injection or whatnot are we not committing murder as well?? I have mixed feelings when say a child killer gets the death penalty...but we are committing a murder technically speaking..Just let the person rot in jail.

There's no sense of "justice" for some people with that.

I'm always disturbed when I read about some family or person related to the murderer's victim feeling closure (with its implied satisfaction) when a murderer is put to death.
