    Hey guys- new to the forums and I thought? I saw a post about anime. Who else is into anime and what are your favorites? There have been some pretty good ones that have come out these past few years like Attack on Titan and Magical Girl Madoka. Thoughts?

    I heard soul water was pretty good; might give it a shot when I have some more time.

    I HIGHLY recommend the following;

    Code Geass Lelouch The Rebellion - around 25? Episodes I think. Great story with decent action (mecha) and lots of mind games/plot twists

    Claymore- One of my all time faves; good action and solid storyline. Chicks with swords - who wouldn't like? 26 episodes

    Psycho-pass - Futuristic Law and Order SVU with good plot twists 24 episodes I think.

    Magical Girl Madoka- Magical girl anime for adults with plot twists, action, and good animation; it's only 12 episodes so it's quick.

    Let me know if you like them; I can recommend more short watches as well!

    You might like : Skip Beat! And Chihayafuru; both are great and not action animes.

    My all time favorites are Record of Lodoss War and Escaflowne (classic animes), Sword Art Online, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Acquarion (Evol too), and Claymore.

    Witch Hunter Robin, Darker than Black, Trinity Blood, Blood+, XXXHolic, and X are all good.

    And for some reason I love crazy women comedy/action animes like Queen's Blade, Sekirei, Rosario + Vampire, and Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne.

    I haven't seen it, but based on pics alone, I can tell it's my thing.

    tumblr_ml0okdAviJ1raht3zo1_500.gif

    I'm actually a recent anime convert. I sort of ended up with my brother's collection. This stuff is mind-mindingly weird, and some of it is eye-openingly kinky! I'm talking tentacles and girls getting penetrated by these giant metal prostheses. My brother was a major sicko in his formative years, clearly.

    GIGOLO-Hahaha, YESSS! =D Sailor Moon is like... My childhood. I don't even count it as anime, just.... lyfe. Hah. What other animes do you like/watch?

    TRIFYRE- Nice choices! SAO is great (not the second season though) And I have HEARD of Escaflowne, guess I have to look into it more. Haven't heard of the other ones you mentioned though. I think you would like Psycho-pass and From the New World; they are more recent, check them out!

    VARUS- One of my friends said Soul Eater was pretty good, maybe I'll look into it as well =P Claymore is AMAZINGGG. The manga is really good too, have you read it?

    ELUSIUM- Haven't heard of those O_O;;

    WOLFRAIN- First, nice name hahaha. Great choices, I guess Escaflowne is pretty good... Attack on Titan is really great; pretty much all of your choices are in my top 20. I would also HIGHLY recommend the following for you: Magical Girl Madoka, Pyscho Pass, and From the New World. All of them are short and sweet.

    BEHEMOTH- Nice. FMA was REALLY good, I think you would really like Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion; it is mecha but it's REALLY GOOD.

    While I agree that most of the 2nd season of SAO wasn't anywhere near as good as the first...the ending was awesome and kept you on your toes!

    Another good one that's short and neat is Black Blood Brothers. Oh and other good dark animes include Black Butler and Hell Girl. And if you want to laugh, check out Ouran Host Club! I die laughing watching that icon_biggrin.gif

    Kill la Kill, you will not regret it. My favorite anime for sure!

    Other than that, I recommend Welcome to the NHK! and The Count of Monte Cristo.

    I remember watching Ninja Scroll when I was younger and it really shocked me. Had no idea animation could be so sexually violent and gory.

    Then there's the whole sub genre of Hentai which I don't really get but seems to be really popular online. Closest I've come to that is the Urotsukidoji movie which was quite disturbing. The Japs like their sexual violence/misogyny

    Also there is a weird sub genre of homo erotic anime made specifically for women right ? So confusing...icon_lol.gif

    I added the intros to my original post. I didn't like the 3D intro to the first series of Ghost in the Shell, 2nd gig's was much better.

    I love the soundtrack to Witch Hunter Robin, and the wuthering heights thing going on between the two main characters, where she's watching him on the TV screen. The episodes had good titles as well, I think they were all named after rock songs!

    I also enjoy a few studio Ghibli movies.

    TRIFYRE- Yeah, I agree about SAO. The first season was so good though!

    I haven't heard of Black Blood Brothers, but I HAVE heard of Black Butler and Hell Girl; Hell Girl got some pretty good ratings from what I can tell as well. Ouran is pretty good- I got through most of it and stopped for some reason. Azumanga Daioh is SO FUNNY!!!

    MATT_MESH- I couldn't get into Kill a la Kill; my friend swears by it, but I don't know. The premise is cool, but the animation freaks me out kinda, haha. It IS pretty popular though.

    GIGOLO- OMG ME TOO. We need to talk more then because you will REALLY like the ones that I mentioned! Ahh I am so excited for you!!!

    WHATEVERYO- Hahahaha! Yeah yaoi is geared for women for some reason. We get "bara" though, and there are some pretty explicit mangas out there that are translated to English..... but back to anime lol....

    KILLER- I was waiting for someone to post Naruto! I was addicted to it for a while, but there are SO MANY FILLERS. Same with Bleach. The manga is pretty decent, although I haven't read it in months....

    NEW_FOREST- Thanks! Witch Hunter holds a sentimental place in my heart haha. Studio Chibli is amazing! They are most people's gateway into anime. Did you know they are going to be making a TV series?

    I got really into playing wizardry online based on Sword Art Online. I really enjoyed the experience.
