Maybe not exactly what you were thinking of. I listened to this about five times last week.

This youtube clip isn't a very good reproduction of the sound.

Here's VoicePlay singing some Lady Gaga Artpop songs

And these are my favorite Pentatonix ones. Although, the first is half of a cover.

All these covers come across extremely cheesy. Especially that Mike Tompkins guy...I can't stand him. He's talented with all the beat box stuff he does but as far as his actual singing voice, he's not very good and overly cheesy.

The acoustics were nice here. I can understand why people think it's cheesy, but there's something also difficult about singing a cappella. You really have to all be in tune with each other. If someone's off-pitch, then you're screwed. You can have 10 good singers with each other, but if there isn't a blend, it's not going to be good. Usually you can listen to terrible blends on singing competition shows where people are in duets or in group settings.

He uses a lot of autotune too, he can't sing that well. I love some Peter Hollins though.

What would be a better (yet probably impossible) thread is one that highlights a capella covers done WITHOUT autotune.

Gaga's first half performance of Artpop (the song) a few weeks ago on Jimmy Fallon show. Flawless. I know, it's not a cover :-D

Probably the most covered song in history, and a legend in the making sings it accapella.

Vogue magazine states this performance confirmed, "Stability had been restored to her monarch." After keeping a low profile after being accused of singing to a backing track; her first public response was this performance.
