Nerve issues

About 15 years ago I had some nerve issues in my thighs. I'm not sure how to describe it, kind of like a tingling feeling. I could also feel the nerves firing. It only happened at night when I was lying down and it was only in my thighs. I had some tests done at the time, although I can't remember what now, and the results were basically inconclusive. The issue eventually went away on its own.

Last year this problem suddenly reappeared. The symptoms are more or less the same although this time it's happening while standing too. I can't really say that it's painful although it is somewhat uncomfortable at times. My thighs sort of feel desensitized, perhaps from overstimulation of the nerves? Anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

    Yeah, I have considered sciatica.

I haven't gone to a doctor. I guess I'm stubborn and figure since it's not preventing me from doing anything, it's not worth a trip to the doctor's office. And since the problem went away on its own once before, I guess I'm hoping that will happen again. That said, I wouldn't seeing a chiropractor about this and some other issues.
